It weighs 6000 lbs and makes 400 hp.
That would be the equivalent of a vette with a 200 hp v6! What did you expect?

Default L92 crate motor/cam phasing????

I need help finding out the details about a complete L92 crate motor or take out motor. I read about this new cam phasing trick GM does on this motor using new cam parts and the computer. How would this affect a retrofit in an early camaro situation? do you keep the cam phaser? sounds like a good idea. but what about aftermarket computer and wiring harness? are there even people out there who can tune this new computer. is there an aftermarket computer that will work with the new L92 engine. I really like the new returnless fuel system. that will make retrofit easier. I'm just not in the know about the new L92 as a complete retrofit system. but it sounds like it might be something to think about. as far as cam phasing is concerned,....what happens if you change the cam? I guess the new L92 block is just a bigger bore Ls2 block? .....isn't it? I don't know. I read that cam sensor and knock sensors are moved. isn't that the same as the ls2?
HHHHHeeeelllllpppppppppp?

You can run the L92 with LS2 or even LS1 electronics/PCM with the correct retro fit harnesses. The cam sensor is located at the front of the motor in the timing cover. The KR sensors on located on each side of the block rather than under the intake manifold as on the LS1. But simple wiring harness adapters from Scoggin will allow you to plug your LS1 electronics right up to the L92, you just wont have cam phasing or Cyl On Demand stuff (who cares). Then the tuning world is your oyster with HPTuners or similar tuning software. You can run any cam you want. Even a set of ported L92s with new REV stainless valves and high lift springs can be had on the cheap, so making your L92 crate motor scream can be done way cheap as compared to just a couple years ago with LS1/LS6/LS2 motors. Anyway, if you want more in depth info on making your L92 run with LS1 electronics/harnesses/PCM, Shirl Dickey with SDRE is a great source of info as he is currently running a 433cid L92 motor in his 2001 ZO6 race car making monster power.

I have been reading every post in this thread all morn.

Here is what i am doing.

6.0L block, brand new. Going to have it bored to the L92 spec of 4.065, correct me if i am wrong.
The reason i am doing this is because i have 2 whole L92 rotatiing assemblies, dont ask where and how i got them, but i DID NOT steal anything.
From my understanding, this will work, right?
On top, i am going to use L92 heads, out of the box and use a set of Patroit Gold extreme lift spring kit. L92 intake rocker arms, LS1 exhaust rockers, and the L92 stands.
I am not sure of this yet, I know i am going to buy the L76 intake assembly from SDPC, but what throttle body do i need to buy for my F body cable? the holley 90mm work?
Also, about the cam selection, I am wanting to clear 500whp, will a T-Rex or a MS4 be overkill? Also, i think i am going to go with the GMPP racing lifters for $202 my cost. pushrod length, i have no clue! someone help on that!!

will the LS2 rail, plug into the LS1 fuel line?

well, thats about all i can think of right now...

thanks
Charlie

Charlie.....that block bore will not work what so ever most likely.

I think you should spend some time with the search button.

Yes, you can. I ran my 389cid iron block with 200shot nitrous for 3 years, bore was to 4.080. A little risky, but we sonic-tested every bore for thickness/bore shift/casting flaws before we decided how much to punch it out. It turned out to be a perfect block, no shift, etc.
I've heard of some builders going to 4.100 on the iron blocks. Your 4.065 will be just fine.

perfect. i read the whole thread looking for valve info and it ended up being the very last one. these parts would work with patriot dual gold extremes on a cam with .636/.639 lift correct?

Can someone tell me the maximum hp these L92's in the trucks can handle (bottom end)? I just got a bad rod knock (we think) as if something let go... making really good power at 5psi and 19 deg timing.

Looking forward to a response,

Kevin

I went through most of the posts, but there is a lot of "anyone get there heads, intake, ... yet and I am looking for the below data. Forgive me if it is there and I missed it. If this can be confirmed and posted in the original post, then some can save time looking for this info.

GM #12590124 L76 Style Intake manifold: Is this the kit with injectors, rails and TB? If not what is the correct PN?

Has anyone confirmed that LS1/2/6 valve spring kits work on L92 heads?

GM #12582714 L92 Bare Cylinder head: Does this PN come with valve seats and guides? If not, what is the PN for this?

What is the GM PN for fully assembled L92s?

Thanks in advance.

Thats for the stock springs. SDPC has a set up untouched heads with .600 and .650 springs for a little more.
