Question for Anyone with a LS2 stroker and Dart 225 Heads
Cam will be something like 238/242 .605/.610 114.
Will I need to flycut pistons and what thickness head gasket would be optimal to give the correct DCR/quench?

The pistons should be ok as the dish is a flycut but the compression is another issue depending on cyl head volume. I would talk to the head guy. The Mahles are were going to give me 12.4 with my 61cc heads so I went to -12s for 11.3 with .040 Cometics. Mahles are .010 out of the hole.

Bigger gasket is bad for quench and can knock more than a tighter one. I think your best bet is 0.040 gaskets and the -12 pistons. Really you need to check your DCR with that cam. SCR isnt that relevant when figuring out pump gas etc.

Have a read here http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tec...power_squeeze/
For 91 with a 170* ECT looks like about 8:1 max according to Mr Vizard.
Otherwise shoot for 7.5:1 Stock 190 ECT, you need less DCR, closer to stock!

Run it cold with a 160 thermo and fans and you might be ok. You can always pull timing, though thats not ideal.
Have a read on that link, you can prep spark plugs and run a colder range, plus a few extra things to eek out as much power as possible. Get cool air vented over the engine etc.
