Thumbs up All motor ls2 times????

who has fast running ls2's? any CI?

im going all motor next year ls2 408
not looking to brake any records, just looking to have fun, but what are people seeing.
this will be in a car set up for drag racing. im thinking low 10's high 9's without an issue. i know i will have some suspention tweeking to do, but pretty sure i can go low 10's no problem.
car went 11.0 with a compleat n2o tuneup in it, 19* of timming, suspention set up for spray, tight *** converter, and a 3:73.
just a converter change and a gear swap the car should go 10.7 anyway, then more power from a motor cam, more compression ect ect. what do you think? and what are people running?
thanks guys

your car sounds alittle slow on the motor now. What are the engine specs and race weight of the car? I would just expect more out of the motor you have now

^^ with a tight converter, nitrous cam and a nitrous tune its not going to run N/A so i see nothing wrong with it going 11.0 off the jug.. and look at his N20 numbers. 9.0 @ 147!!!!!!! thats movin..

with a 4500+ stall, all motor cam choice, max effort n/a tune, and more gear it would easily run low 10's..

I recoreded a 12.2 at 121mph on street tires at 414rwhp... Now the car makes 446rwhp with a reall fat power curve. With traction it should be mid to low 11s with just a baby cam 215\232 heads and bolt-ons... I've pulled a new C6 Z06 from a roll (it's posted on the forums somewhere) and a 434 stroker + a new R6 by 1.5 - 2 cars + from a 60 punch...

Don't worry Brad.. if my car runs a 10. anything, you'll be running low 10's high 9's no problem.. I'm at 3600 lbs min, on pump gas, and have a tighter converter then what you'll end up going to, and the 4.10's in my car are either the same or less then you will run (ratio wise), that being said, if I can get into the 10's with my car, you'll have no issues running low 10's, you've got to be 500 lbs lighter then I am.

its a 402 with heavy *** N2O pistions, 11-1 CR, heavy *** lunati rods, N2O cam, 19* of timming, a tight *** converter, and a 3.73 gear. of course its slow!! the car make 400 hp on motor. its a nitrous car. light weight bump up pistions, light weight rods, 34* of timming, 4.30 gears and a loose *** converter, im thinking she will go. its set up for race, suspention is 100% car is light, and im sure will run a good number.

thanks for the other info guys. i think this is my setup for next season.
anyone interested in a bad *** N2O setup, let me know

a light 402 setup na you should have no problem going high nines. I was wondering about your whole setup because I am doing about the same thing. but no one wants to give me details the just want to fight about the point that its a nitrous setup.

for what its worth a proporly built N2O setup will never go as fast on motor as a proporly built motor car.
first off, just the cam selection alone is holding back huge power. cylender pressure is big.
also, heavy moving parts. the lighter the faster, but the heavy stuff is made for spray, made to take the shock!

also the tune up. running super cold plugs, low low timming, and very high octain kills a car unless your spraying. just the octain alone is huge.
117 in a motor car vs 112 or somthing will probably loose 5-10 rwhp do to the burn rate of the fuel.

anyway, i dont want to argu with anyone, i will just build it, and prove a point

We have a customer running consistent 10.60's with one of our 402 LS2's in the summer heat in South Carolina. It's easy to build the power for 10's. You just have to make sure you have the car setup to use the power properly.

Feel free to e-mail, call, or PM with any questions or concerns.

If you're not looking to break any records, why not get a looser converter in there, and bump up the timing. That alone should put you in the mid 10's. In a light enough car, and a gear and or tire size change, you might get close to 9's.

I dont have the nitrous hooked up to the car yet, but like yours, it's built for that, and also runs 11.00 on motor alone, @ a 3500 raceweight.

Like you really need to ask for help Brad! Everyone who knows you is quite sure you'll have NO problem running 10.00 in your monster. You'll figure it out.

thanks alot.

im sure i will have to get the suspention diald back in, the car is setup to hook 1,000 rwhp on spray so im sure it will need some tweeking to hook 500 hp on motor. with a gear and converter.

what i want is a big wheelie car to make it fun, and a nice running car that wont need alot of maitnace.

well, im not looking to brake any records, but remember im coming from a low 9 second/high 8 second car, so to run high 10's will get old very very fast, so i need somthing with high 9's in it anyway.

im going to be light, im around 3200-3300 with all my nitrous stuff and the parachute. so loosing that stuff will drop me a good 60-70 pounds easy, so im sure with the converter, gear swap, and more HP the car will run well. hell, we have a low 10 sec 346 right now, so im sure we can ddo better
