Default C5R heads & LS7 Carbed Intake ??

Has anyone thought of doing this, I am putting together next years Engine and I am using C5R heads and am thinking the LS7 Carbed intake may be the way to go. The intake looks thin though and I wonder how much it can be hogged out. I ordered one but don't have it yet. What do you guys think?

Yeah it should be possible, you would just have to fix the bolt pattern on the intake to work.

I'm just hoping the intake isn't paper thin because I know it has to be ported alot to match my intake runners.

Do you have pictures on this ls7 intake? What kind of flow numbers between the factory ls7 and carb style.I have the gm carb style now with my et 255 heads and i might go ls7 route if it's worth the extra power.

I don't think it would be worth it, just change jets.

I know of one person in doing this, and I am looking at it myself - but neither of us have an intake either. Just corrected the bolts for the factory style intakes and bolt on -- but like you said, could be to thin to get the ports matched up.

No currently I just have LS6 heads. I have brand new C5R's that flow about 70 cfm more than my current heads. That along with a better intake, 100lb lighter block, billet crank, and aluminum rods should make for a mean NA setup.

We actually just put together a C5R with a Carb and used a Mopar intake. Looks a little funny but the ports line up perfect. I may use that intake 1st and see how it works. Good to see your still alive Tom.

I have LS6 heads with a Edelbrock victor ls1 intake and a wilson throttle body at the current time. Camn Hawk has C5R with a sheet metal intake I believe. My entire engine will be up for sale in 2 weeks. $7000 takes it home.
