ls7 zo6 is rated 18/26 mpg. Don't know the exact rating on c6, but it's a bit better than the 7 liter (on gas mileage)

For gas mileage forget the 402 or the 427 and get a built VTEC. Kidding but if you have an M6 and your on the highway cruising in 6th gear you can get some pretty good gas mileage. I would get around 28-29 mpg on the highway in my cammed camaro so im sure if you keep the rpms down you could see mid 20's in a 402 or a 427.

I set the cruise @ 75mph and get 31mpg. I drove from Carson City to Vista non-stop. That's 510 miles. I had to pee when I got home! Took me about 8 hours. Car ran great! It sure is fun blowing past traffic in the high desert!

What's wrong with trying to maximizing mileage with a big cube setup? Isn't that a benefit of having a modern EFI engine with an overdrive transmission? Even with my A4, 3.73 gears and 4000 stall I squeaked nearly 16 mpg driving to the track and back. Of course not as good as a M6, but still respectable for this setup.
