Default ls7 nitrous limits?

Hi folks,

How much nitrous can a stock ls7 shortblock take?

I keep hearing horror stories about thin cylinder walls and the "weak" titanium rods, but I havent seen anything to support this.

Has anybody successfully run a multi stage 200/300 shot?

thanks,

Steve

anyone have news to share on this?

I have a built LS7 engine with stock block, stock LS7 crank, Lunati Promod billet rods, forged Wiseco pistons and am wondering if this can safely take a 100-150hp wet shot? I have heard the stock sleeves could be the weak point..... It is in the finishing stages of assembly and would like to know safe nitrous limits with a stock block at least also.

Lance with the HPE z06.. his stock block survived for a while on a 150 shot.. i'm not sure if nitrous was behind the reason for his rebuld for a 427 that can take a 300shot or not.

I'd think 650-700rwhp should satify most of us.

A stock Ls7 short block has the best you parts in it.

Forged crank,(callies i think)titanium rods,forged pistons(from je i think)
should be able to handle 200 shot atleast I would think.

I'm hoping to make 725rwhp on nitrous/800rwtq+......

Any other opinions? I still have the time to resleeve the block....

The blocks not going to be the issue. Pistons will be, and stock ring gap. We usually limit the stock shortblock to a 150 shot. Or you could spray more and just tune it unreasonably conservative and run race gas. But you'll make 700 rwhp on a cam/nitrous LS7 with a 150 shot easy if you do it right.

Hello Chuck.

What is the stock ring gap in the LS7?

Thanks, Perry
