Default ls7 crate engine question...

putting together a spreadsheet for an ls7

i have to have EVERYTHING

so far
this is what i'm coming up with

the "dressed" ls7 assembly from gm
this is what i'll have to get seperate from that

ecu
wiring harness
throttle body
alternator
ac compressor
ps pump
bell housing
clutch
oil lines
oil tank
motor mounts will be needed, as well as all bracketry i assume

what else is needed???

i'm assuming that there are some special flanges for the exhaust manifolds as well?

The flywheel and the clutch are included with the crate engine. The throttle body is also included.

Do a search on all threads started by user John B. You will get links to a bunch of threads that detail the installation of an LS7 into his Monte. YOu will also find alot of useful answers and pictures.

yeah i think the thing that it doesnt come with.. is the dry sump tank and lines for it. If you choose to go with the dry sump system.. you'll need to relocate your battery and such...

there is a link on this board, Katech put an LS7 in an Fbody.. took some work as well. search for it.. is relatively new

the motor mount brackets and ex manifolds also come with it. lots of aftermarket dry sump tanks available.(good selection at speedway motors) use hose lines from local hose supplier.(1/5 the price and custom fit)
need an AN conversion fitting to attach lines to oil pan. wheel 2 wheel have them and i think street and performance. presently on ebay is a ls7 engine from fred beans parts, buy it now price for 12,395. good luck.

all that's left is the dry sump oiling stuff

katech had to modify the stock z06 oil tank to work. I used a pegesus tank in mine. custom tank and lines are waaaay cheaper than the gm piece, only thing I wish I had was the dip stick!

Hey man, I work at a Chevrolet dealership as the performance parts guy. If you have any more unanswered questions, I can call GM's Performance Division to get some concrete answers. Also, and just as important, I can even see if I can beat Beans price on the crate motor. I'll try to get that on here tomorrow.
