Patriot Announces Our NEW Gold Xtreme Spring !!
In May we began working with our current spring provider on a new spring design. These springs will be of the same great quality as our Original Patriot Gold springs. The max lift will be .660", seat pressure 155 lbs., 410 lbs. open. Our kit will be a drop-in application with no machining required. This series will be known as our Gold Xtreme spring. They will have our Patriot Gold finish on the inner spring and a Silver finish on the outer.
The complete kit with Patriot Gold Xtreme Dual springs, ti retainers, Super 7 Locks, machined bases, and viton seals will only be $275.00. These springs will be available on all of our heads, including the 243 castings we now have on special. We should have the springs in stock and ready to ship kits early next week.
We would like to make a special offer to all forum members, until 11/30/2006 purchase our new Patriot Gold Xtreme Kit for only $239.50 !!!

I never stated that there's such a thing as too much spring pressure. What I was asking is if more spring pressure is good or bad since he stated that it had more with the new kit. I didn't realize there was such a thing as solid roller springs. I thought there was only rockers and lifters. What distincts solid roller springs from hydraulic?

Solid roller springs run massive pressures to control the ramps of the solid roller cams. They can do this because the lifters are solid and there is no chance of breaking the lifter like a hydraulic. I don't agree on the "never to much" spring issue. If you have a spring that is adequate for the application, then there is no reason to run more pressure. If that were the case, we'd all have solid roller springs and rev kits. Over springing can also rob you of HP. If you have a problem with valve control, then you have the wrong springs. Springs are application specific. If you don't need .660" springs, then there not going to help you and will probablly rob you a few HP on the big end.
