how big on an LS2?

If you want to sleeve, you can run Darton LS7 sleeves (in the LS2 block) which will go out to a 4.190" bore. This coupled with a 4.250" stroke crank will net you a 469ci. That's about the max you can do until Darton finishes the 4.200" MID sleeves, then you can get a 471ci.

But it still kinda doesnt answer my question. I am wanting to know more about a 402+, maybe 408, or 412.. nothing higher really... on a LS2

Darton sleeves are much stronger than the original cast in sleeves or the pressed in gray iron liners in the stock LS7 (3X the tensile strength). Larger bore allows use of LS7 or other large valve heads. I do about as many LS7 resleeves as LS2.
