search function isn't working.
seems people have different opinions on them. some say it weakens the deck surface too much.
this is in regards to an iron block 6.0L

ARP has an L19 head studs that is close to the standard 2000 series head stud in terms or strength without to much worry about thread pullout amongst other issues. I for one have a hard time beliving most shop have the thread rolling maching centers that the OEM's use to create those strong *** threads and any cut thread will be at best 3/4 the strength of a similar roller thread. Just use the l19 studs. If the heads lift get a warhawk or LSX iron from GMPP in spring and use the new 6bolt heads. Should never have trouble again.

it's not uncommon to se larger nitrous setups with oversized head studs.
There's plenty of competant maching shops that can do the block over for oversized studs, it's been being done for years on lots of different engines other then lsx stuff.
That being said, I have 1/2 L19's in my motor

W2W can answer your questions on them. In fact, I have a spare iron block over there that is already machined for the 9/16 head studs. I need to sell that thing...LOL
