Default L92 head swap

So I have been thinking about installing L92 heads on my 408 and I'm trying to find out if my valves will run into my slugs. It seems like everyone needs to fly cut when running these heads. Heres what I got.

Iron block
4.0 callies crank
manley rods
Mahle 12cc dish pistons
Lingenfelter GT-11 215/231 @ .050 and .631/.644

What are your thought on the PTV

The intake lobe on your cam is small enough that it might just clear the pistons you have. These heads are still too new to have all the possible combinations worked out. I recommend you take the time and check it for sure. The consequences of not checking can really ruin your day.

I just put together my 408 with a comp 231/235 110+0 LSK, -9cc diamond pistons, 65cc chamber, .041 head gasket with REV valves and had plenty of P/V clearance.

Isnt that cam on a 116 or higher lsa, probably wouldn't have a problem

It is still best to check P/V clearance when doing any swap with bigger-than-stock cams. Valve size and location are the two variables that multiply your chances of disaster..... not worth taking the chance, as Richard suggests.

So you milled the heads? How much did you mill off?

Not to be nosy but, did you actually cc the combustion chamber and get 65cc?. I am doing mine .030 now and was guessing more like 67

its a general rule that .006" is about 1 cc so do the math....., dont take my word for it, tony mamo told me that, and i think he knows more then you about ls series heads.
