Default L92 crankshaft

Anyone know the difference between

GEN III 5.3-5.7-6.0 crankshaft part number 12559354

L92 6.2 crankshaft part number 12584997

Other then the reluctor ring are these the same crankshafts?

The only differences are the reluctor ring and that they are balanced differently because they have different bob weights. If you are building a custom engine with one of these cranks it will not matter which one you use because it will be rebalanced to the new parts. Just make sure you have one with the correct reluctor.

The original press release that came out said they were forged but they are not. It is a standard cast crank.

Beside the balance weights the truck crankshafts are not gun drilled for weight reduction.

So what relucter ring does the l92 crank come with? Looking at possibly building a mild street engine with this crank. And the price is almost too good to pass up. Is it the same as any other gen3 truck engine? Are there any reasons not to use this crank? "hp/tq limits"...

Why not stick with a stock(proven strong)? any reason gm is casting new cranks if they all have the same throw?

it's cheaper to build a few specific cranks than to balance each individual engine.
