Default Some L92 + cam engine dyno numbers

Been told by Jason at TSP that they engine dynoed a 418 ci with the L92/L76 setup. The heads are ported and flow 360/245ish the cam was a 248/256 and they got 635 which equates to roughly 535rwhp thru an M6. Not bad numbers IMO. He is working on different cams on the dyno, as soon as I hear more I will post up the info. This was with the cam straight up. He was going to advance all the cams 2 and 4 degrees to see what those heads like.

yea I was just readin these heads are SUPER SENSITIVE TO CAM TIMING so I am sure the is a huge room for improvement there and another 40-50 or so RWHP on the table.

thanks for the info. I really hope they find another 50hp out of it. LS1 heads can make those numbers. I wish somebody would figure these heads out!

show me these LS1 heads that are making 635 crank hp on 418 cubes with hyd. cam. Please. Where????

418 cubes and about 545-555 rwhp with a cam that probaly isn't close to optimum is AWSOME. 427 strokers with completely ported LS6 heads with comprable cam size and FAST 90/90 setups are about 550 rwhp, and this combo has been scienced out for years. A 418 with ported L92 and L76 set up is a LOT cheaper than a 427 LS1 series motor as well.

I also think we will see 650-675 crank hp with the right cam, still being a hyd roller too!

Figure about $7500-$7700 TOTAL for a forged 418 shortblock ($4500), cam ($500), ported/assembled heads ($1800-$2000), and L76 intake/TB/Rails/Injectors ($528). That is a HELL of a deal for a brand new forged 400+ inch motor that makes this kind of power with quite a few factory parts! Exciting times for LSX'ers!

my old FMS 408 with ported 317s and a 246/250 cam put down 532/501 with a 12:1 AFR. and it had 40 miles when dynoed.

i was expecting the same if not better results than what we have been seeing so far. but its still new in the game too.

There's quite a few AFR 225/402's making 530-550 rwhp as well.
