Question Help with 6.0 possibilities!!!

Currently have the ls1 in my car and I was thinking of picking up a 6.0 and slowly building it over time to swap in my 99 z. Would this be a better choice than stroking my current motor? Don't know if I'll do a power adder or not. Where is some general info on building one of these motors? Also, I found an escalade motor, is that a good one? Just need some basic info! Thanks!

L92 heads on a 6.0 would be a nice combo

l92 heads on a stock 6.0 liter should make about 550 crank horsepower with a mild cam. I am building a 427 6.0 liter iron block with ported l92's.

I also just picked up a LQ9 engine, but I think I'm going to keep it stock and install the l92 heads, l76 intake, and a vindicator cam. I just talked to SDPC and the tech guy said everything will bolt up, but would need new rockers for the offset and adapters for the knock and cam sensor.

Isnt the LQ9 a 377 as opposed to the 364 LS2 and LQ4? I saw that in "how to build high-performance chevy ls1/ls6 V-8s" book. I never heard that before...

Also, the LQ4 and LQ9 are supposed to be like ls1s (meaning all of our sensors will go in no problem like its the same engine only 6.0 and iron)...where as the LS2 needs a wiring harness adapter for certain sensors...?...

I am planning the same deal as CMKworm, and I've had my eyes on the L92 heads for a while. The SLP L92 head kit is bound to be a rip off, because its SLP. Would it be cheaper to buy everything on your own? Like from SDPC? Or is this actually a good deal?

As long as the manifold comes with the fuel rails and injectors, it looks like the SLP kit might not be that bad of a deal, especially considering it comes with a throttle cable style TB, and all the brackets to make it work.

The only difference between the lq9 and lq4 is the compression.

I never was for sure about the cubies on a LQ9, 377 is what the book said. But, i've already found a few mistakes in that book. Thanks for the info.

I'll say it depends on what you want to do with it. I would go with an LQ4 to save money. The only difference is the LQ9(flat) has a higher compression 10:1CR. The LQ4 (dished)has 9.4:1CR.You know we have a truck performance section with alot of great info over there. We won't bite .
