Default shortening Ti valves

i can get a great deal on some xceldyne 11/32 stem ti valves, they are 5.700 in length though, and i need them 5.500 long, is there any way to shorten them in anyway, or is it not worth it.

Why would you not run taller springs or shim the bases up? that is what I would do.

I take it charlie wasn't able to help?

It shouldn't weaken the valve any as long as it is machined for the properly, it would bu like back cutting the valve.

i say go for it.

The only reliable way this could work is if the new overall length is equal to or lower than the bottom of the existing keeper groove. If the valves currently have square grooves then they'll have either a .250" or .290" tip length. After machining, the original groove will then be just below the new tip end. Not good............
If the valves have bead lock grooves they'll also be up near the tip of the new valve length.
