Default What hp can the LS2 safely handle?

Friend of mines engine finally went out in his camaro, and he has a REALLY nice hookup on a LS2 engine that he is probably going to get and replace his old motor with. So im asking on his behalf, what hp can a LS2 safely handle? not sure how it compares in strength compared to the LS1.

Thank you

W2W has made some insanely powerful boosted LS2's. Maybe they will chime in here.

With Billet Mains 1000hp is Doable on an aluminum block, much more than that and the case starts to distort and things start to break.

W2W does sell a 1000+Hp capable ls2's.

complete stock form.

Basically if you bought a C6 what amount of HP would be a good place to stop for reliability? assuming there is a good tune.

I just dont know what all is different on the internals and cant seem to search for it to well.

id say around 550-600 wheel. 600 might be pushing it a bit for reliability

If you plan on nitrous ontop of the bolt ons, look into a good tune!
