Max HP for LS7 Block?
Max HP for LS7 Block? I know this has been debated in the past but I am looking for some solid numbers. What is the limit of a stock LS7 block? Hot Rod this month indicated 600 HP was max because the cylinder walls are too thin. I was considering putting low compression pistons in an otherwise stock LS7 and putting 10-15 lbs of boost in it. That is more than 600 Hp and I hate to crack the block (again - another story). Anyone actually experience a failure?

The GM High Performance Parts catolog shows GM's recomended max hp. rating for GM's current blocks, as I recall. I'm not at home to look up the LS7 block but if memory serves... it was ~750/800 hp.

LS7 blocks have taken massive abuse and come out shinning! i have seen 800rwbhp N2O setups and a 1000+bhp twin turbo.
if the liners do crack then have a word with R.E.D (race engine development) on here. they can now do new ducile iron sleeves for the LS7.
