Default Warhawk News

We have approximately 50 blocks in 9.24 size. 43 are in the warehouse and 7 or 8 are in prep. The backorder situation is nearly done. See each of our homepages for proof. We're getting many orders for short block assemblies.

We've also had many requests for our LS7X heads with no valve job so for the near-term we're only going to offer them that way. Glad the builders want to cut them their favorite way. We have about 6 or 8 sets of both 64 and 72cc with bowl blend and complete valve jobs left.

Murda
PM me with your desired specs and on Monday I'll see what we can do.
Neme
Our 6-bolt heads are not o-ringed, if I read you correctly.

Any flow data on the LS7X heads yet? And, yes, i know it's not everything.

-Thanks.

Scotty
Sorry, no flow data-but no sermon about "it's not everything".
Guys are ordering them with no valve job so we're going to offer them that way for a while. We'll get an indication when we build the Drag version 14:1 motor.

Well dang it... i was hoping for 350cfm as cast bolt on.... now i guess we'll just wait until all the "builders" figure out what they are doing....

MerlinPro, Do you think long stroke with the tall deck would compromise strength in the rotating assembly vs. the 9.24 deck in a boosted application? I know the blocks are undergoing testing but what's your opinion? I've been on the fence for a while now and want to weigh everything out before I jump at one of these blocks. I'm looking to make over a 1,000rwhp on single turbo and will prob still drive the car 50 to 100 miles a weekend.

Edward,
This is strictly opinion, as you asked because we simply haven't built one in that power range yet.
I think the greater concern rather than the stroke is the quality level of the rotating parts. If you shop the upper spectrum of cranks and rods I don't think stroke is a factor at all.
As an example we build our Drag Merlins to 632 which is 4.600 x 4.750. Our 572 is 4.500 x 4.500. We build to 900 HP in the 632 and around 875 in the 572. We build with a Callies crank in the 632 because Eagle does not offer a 4.750-but we're comfortable with these power levels with Eagle and have never had issues. However-that's probably the threshold for this equipment. It would be wise to pick more costly alternatives with your expected 12-1400HP goal.
A possible choice for you is a 454 build in our tall deck, rather than the 481 (4.500). I would spin that 4.25 stroke a little higher to make power and sneak-up on the boost to your RWHP goal. This should diminish your concern about stroke vs. strength compromises.
As far as the blocks guts, if you haven't already done so, read "Warhawks Secret Weapon" here:http://theengineshop.com/prods_pages...2_keyfetrs.htm
which I wrote and photographed to explain our other major design feature (after six-bolt head attachment). Press-fit ductile iron sleeves with o-ring is another factor in Warhawk's high strength with reliability.
If anything decides which block is for you, these should be the major factors IMHO.
Hopefully some of the "big dogs" will chime in here with their equipment choices and experiences at these power levels.
Hope this helps.

i just have to ask this one last question before friday (placing a shortblock order). i was looking at the thread where the c5r block and warhawk block are compared and looking at those pics of how the warhawks water jacket encircles the entire perimeter of the cylinders and i was wondering if this would lead to any possible hot spots in the cylinders particulary where the head bolts are as in OEM alum blockes have the water jackets go between the cylinder and head bolts to actually make contact with the outer side of the cylinders and cool better. i will be having this motor built for turbo usage and 1200HP and there will be excessive heat in my cramped 4th gen engine bay. i was kinda hoping to see more extreme buildups using this block so i can see how well they are performing under FI but i really need to start going on with my build up.

We got a nice size shipment of blocks, heads, and completion kits from WorldProducts last week They look great and we are VERY ready to see some more builds utilizing this killer block and heads!

Murda,
I understand why you're hesitant with an unknown product. We simply are not at the stage to do such time-consuming and costly testing.
I can tell you that our guys gave a lot of time and thought to that cylinder case/water design and if they suspected it would be marginal at 1200HP they would not have let it out that way. These are the same guys that did our SBF which is successful at the 1700-1800HP level.

Man im so confused on what way i want to go on my new bulid. If i go world i will also go canted valve et heads, but i don't want to spend all that money to find out that when we put it on the bottle it pushes water.I know testing has not been done on high horse poweradder setups.Im also think going SBC setup with a sp2 setup or a little cheif setup. If the six bolt product works for heavy nos users like me im sure it will take anything.

We did not flow them out of the box, we knew what we wanted to do for the 455 and we just started working them as soon as we got them. The motor is since running in the car and we have been dyno tunning on it, getting through all the bugs. We are running a large hydraulic roller on them and they just love rpm
