Looks like Spec is taking care of the issue and hopefully Andrew will have the car back up and running soon.
We are all waiting for some video's.

I guess I don't know much about the Ls7 clutch but I don't think it will hold 600-700RWHP like I will be running soon (next year hopfully)!!??

I am going to try and keep the ls7 for as long as it will last. It seems to be holding up to some serious power the C6 ZO6s are making all the way to 600+ RWHP. Hopefully it will last for a while.

Do yourself a favor and spend the $1,000 for a Tex single disc OZ700 clutch which rocks big time and probably is the leading single disc clutch on the market up to 650rwhp!

When I get the spec back in their, if I am still unhappy with it I will definantly be buying a Tex OZ700. everyone Seems to love the tex, and they say it has a Factory feel.

Is the OZ700 clutch like a on off switch or can you slip it like a stock style clutch??

It slips, its kind of crazy how easy it is, compared to a spec III for instance its night and day. I don't know how this thing can hold 650rwhp but all I want is it to hold 550 so we we'll see.

We have several cars with LS7 Clutches in them. They are a all around great clutch and work very well. However remember that they are holding up well in a C6Z06 that weighs at least 500lbs less then this TransAM especially after this heavy iron block went in.
Also realize few of the C6 Z06 guys Drag race their cars and the ones that do typically bitch about the 45-1hr wait that is needed between runs to let the clutch cool way down.
We have a few guys making over 550 RWHP with C5 Vette's using the C6Z06 clutch, none of them drag race the car often, and the one's that do make sure they get plenty of cool down time between runs.
I like the LS7 clutch quite a bit, and for the $$$ its unbeatable, but I believe Andrew's car need a clutch that can handle a bit more power.

Maybe what we should have done was do the LS7 clutch now and when he added the power and or pulled the tranny to upgrade went to the more aggressive clutch at that time.

The stage 3 from Spec is very hated in the LS1 world. And I can understand why. The 3+ however isn't so bad. Less chatter, nicer feel.
But more money too.

Did you install that small TB spacer? In some cases its NOT needed. If you didnt need it, but installed it anyways, it WILL make your clutch slip.

Dont let the wool be pulled over your eyes. Although the tex is a great clutch, there have been complaints about their twin. Mainly that its a race clutch. It DOES chatter, and is very noisy. Honestly, the next time I go with a new clutch, I personally would consider a Tex. But, I will weigh out all the pros/cons.

I currently run the SPEC twin. It runs great, and holds like a ****. Mine was on ALOT more power than 700/750. Its still being broke in, so the jury is still out, but so far its perfect. (and yes I pulled it out and inspected it)

I think that people automaticly jump all over SPEC. Every-single-clutch-out-there has problems of some sort. Their no different than anyone else.

I just saw your car in a spec ad in a vette magazine a couple days ago.
