We are building 427ci LSX block with twin T76 turbonetics,
I couldn't imagine any good reason to go with a larger motor then that for forced induction, your piston CD would be near paper thin. Anything larger 4.185" the walls become 'thin' for FI/Nitrous, according to Robin L.
2nd. what head gasket do you use? largest cometic makes is 4.200 IIRC

So you're saying right now, if the tall deck was out, it would not be possible to do a 4.250 x 4.250 481ci because cometic doesnt make a 4.250 head gasket? i'm sure that will change. A 4.250 bore on the lsx block still leaves a .2 wall thickness. I wouldn't call that paper thin. I'd even suspect there would be room for clean up later with .2 wall left. **** I guess I could be wrong though.... Sounds plenty enough for any FI
IMO the block would be relatively stable, but with that little amount of head gasket, that is where your problems would arise.

1500 on street trim, pump gas? And what in ghod's name are you going to run this side of a tubbed out slick is going to even start to plant the power?
Got a buddy of mine that can't plant anything below 4th gear with just over 700/700 with a 345 BFG on the street. He is actually going to turn down his power, because the car is not fun anymore.
What are you going to do, 6 gear roll on's?
1500HP belongs in a tubbed out, fully framed race car. In anything less is just your ego talking.

#2...I like crazy off the wall ****.
#3...Your friend sucks at driving because my friend plants his 1,200+ RWHP TT Viper from a 50 roll, as well as many other 1,000+ RWHP cars do down here. Of course they roll into the throttle as required but he gets it all soon after.
#4...I will be getting a tubbed rear-end by NRE.
#5...You'll see soon enough.
#6...Its not ego, its just money and wanting to do something crazy.

That makes sense... The bore spacing is 4.4 which would leave a .075 on a 4.25 bore. Weird, wonder why everywhere it says that a 4.250 leaves a .2 wall? I was assuming .2 wall, .1 per cyl, which would be plenty for fi. But .075 is pushing it definitly. I know on Darton MID's it's recommended no less then a .075 wall also.

I'm assuming you'll leave it in street trim any time but at the track? I dont think 2300hp in that block will last doing anything more then 6 second passes at a time. Trying to max out the car with that much power in a small block has to generate a tremendous amount of heat that I dont think the motor could take for any extended amount of time.. IE roll racing from 40 to 200 mph.

You guys must have big egos and even bigger wallets. Whats wrong with FI for 650 to the tire? The combo's you guys are talking about would be great but not for a car driven all the time.

My ~500 RWHP is GAY now, it does absolutley NOTHING for me.....NOTHING!!!!!!
Not positive, but I think this is a 1,000 hp set-up, daily driver.

not so much anything wrong with it but can be done without the lsx block, with a smaller motor, etc. i guess its more an exercise of what this platform can do effectively and reliably.

Weekend fun in a 2,000 hp street legal car would be fun, especially for highway runs. And 650 to the wheels has been done to death and would just be down right boring.

I am talking about the original post about shooting for 650 to the tire. I agree that a nice round 800 RWHP would be a nice # for the street and for roll racing.

I just think an LSX motor for 650 to the tire is overkill, any # of sponsors can put together a FI LS1 or LS2 that can easily all day long get to 650 RWHP. And have pretty much stock driveability...no crazy cam's...funny idles...stock fuel mileage out of boost etc.

But wouldn't you agree that staying away from sleeves is just a huge bonus, if the block is only $1,995?
How much is a sleeved LS2 gonna cost from start to finish?????????????????????? See what I mean?
And just think, he can pull the LSX later on, bore it bigger and it will be like the day he bought it but a brand new set-up to start with.
Cannot do that with the sleeved LS1, LS2, LS7.
