Katech Performance Super Engine Powers C6rs Supercar
Also, any guesstimate on the weight of the car. I know you guys (Katech) were responsible for the motor, but with all the liberal use of carbon fiber I'd have to speculate that it dropped close to 100lbs off the base Z06, possibly getting it close to that sub 3000lb magical mark.
Yes, it does.
That's quite the impressive car!
I'm glad to see someone finally tested Nikasil on these engines. I saw a thread a while ago about the same thing you guys did using Nikasil and getting rid of the cylinder liners.

The C6RS engine is made exclusively for the C6RS. However, we will be introducing a Street Attack and Track Attack 500 later.
Pretty close.
Pretty close.
the Nikasil coating is used on loads of engines now, but i notice a lot of manufacturers still use liners for their high performance variants, ie the rangerover v8 has Nikasil coated bores as standard, but the supercharged one has iron liners. BUT this is not forced induction, so doesnt need liners. at 600hp this 8.2 litre engine is not stressed at all.
It seems to me the benefits of the larger bore size made possible by not using liners outweighs the strength advantage liners give in this case. the engine is plenty strong enough without them. (you couldnt use as big a bore with liners)

No, they are not available.
Yes.
Nikasil has been proven to be extremely durable in our LS7.R race engine racing 24 hour endurance races. I doubt you could ever wear it out.
