Default my top end combo

hey guys this is all goin on a trailblazer ss:

l92 heads cnc ported, valve job and hand bowl blended by texas speed. (800 total)

comp cams 228 230 int/exh @ 50 .571 .578 112 lsa with 2 advance built in. ($254)

comp cams roller lifters (254)

pushrods - waiting for assembly to measure, recommendations?

valves - manley ss (looking for alternative preferably in titanium)

titanium retainers(come with valves)

comp behive 918 springs ($203)

jessel shaft mount rocker arms ( i know, over kill but im upping the cam alot when we get the super charger next year...why buy twice?) (1100)

ported intake from 6.2 escalade - (got it for 100 with the porting!!!!!!)

working on a throttle body (reccomendations?)

arp screw in studs and new cam bolts

and you know that little hatch in the back of the trailblazers.....well that seems like a perfect place for about 4 of those sneaky pete bottles ... anyways we estimated this to be about 520 at the motor (610-630 on the gas) what you guys think? anything else i should throw in while im spending my future son's inheritance?

pro charger when taxes come back!!!!!

Sounds like a good plan.
The stock rockers are proven performers in much nastier builds than yours, so
that is one place to save some of that inheritance.
If KP could not break his at 8.90's I'm sure they will be fine.
I would advise that you upgrade to the Patriot Extreme Gold springs to
keep the heavy valves under control. That is what I used in my build.
Good luck!

i just would not get the comp 918-i would get doubles so later on u wont have to change the springs-due to higher lift camshaft as u have mention u will or change camshafts all the time-

also for the price of doubles-its a cheap reliable asset- compared to the 918 which are rated at 600-610 compared to 650-660 from patriot-

my 2 cents-

everything else looks good-

I think you will find that cam isnt not the ideal on a sqaure port L92/LS7 type head.
You will want less intake duration vs exhaust. Most do a minimum of 12* split. The katech torquer cam has over 40*!

Jason, do you folks sell the hollow stem valves seperately? Couldnt find any on your website. Im trying to put together a set of bare heads and Im having trouble finding valves other than the stock L92. Also, are you guys using the factory L92 exhaust valve in your heads? Im not doing anything extreme with my motor, just unported L92's on the factory 6.0 bottom end in my GTO with a smaller cam. Will the stock L92 valves hold up to double springs?

Hmm, did it need port volumes or just flow numbers? Not that I know much, but Im interested in your results either way. Post them up once done.

the comps...i wont say it gave me the best numbers, but it gave me the best numbers for what i was looking for...which was peak torque on the low side. and high hp up top. with this cam torque peaks and then just flat lines and the horsepower just keeps climbing, and with the future gas installed (gotta have a little extra till i get a blower lol) it was even better..at least that what the computer said...ill get the printout from the engine builder and post it.

Buy pushrods after you put the motor together. That way you can measure it and get them the exact right length.

yeah im pretty familiar with building but thanks anyways...anyways guys here is a test that car craft mag did with the same setup that i am using...cam and all...the only difference is that mine will be fuel injected and will have a truck intake so it will have much more torque down low
(and this was a gen iii 6.0 out of a truck but i still dont think it will make to much difference. the little bit extra ci will also make up for my bottom end torque numbers) ...and as you can see these numbers dont dissapoint...ill still get the virtual dyno printout when i swing by the shop

http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...comp_cams.html

550 at the engine makes about 500 at the wheels on an awd...add a 150 shot and we got us a toy!!! anyone here think the bottom end wont hold 700? >

ps these heads werent cnc ported!!!!
