Default 6.6 L92 cam?

I'm building a 408 Iron block. going to have 12:1 compression and I'm taking as much rotating mass off as I can you know the normal stuff. but I'm done a search for the right cam but I cant find it! I'm going N/a but all i've found is nitrous or some other power adder. i want to make MAX HP na any ideas on which cam to get? custom ground is what i'm after.

get a custom grind..
some were around the 240/252s
or 230/242// make sure thier a couple degrees apart cause the cam is sensative to the heads /intake,exhaust

merv I might go with that cam if you can figure out why your not making the power you should be from that cam. i'm waiting for scorpion to make the full roller for the l92 and thats what i'm going use for rockers.

I am running the new SDPC cam for L92 heads for lot's of torque. .224/.232 lift .585/.590
LSA 114. Engine being put together as we speak with Diamond pistons with L92 valve reliefs and stage II L92 heads all Manley stuff. This cam was designed for the L92 heads.

Didn't get high numbers but Torque peaked at 4700 and the HP at 6300, and the curves were very smooth..very little drop off.

cant give out the dead on specs but its a street cam should make 500whp at most

That is my exact compression and I have tried 5 different cams from huge to baby sized and the best was the G5X3 from LG. Don't play around. Take my experience and throw it in your car without hesitating.

Torque was unreal down low. The only downside if any was it peaked maybe 300rpm sooner than the bigger cams but with a better intake when available it will be perfect.

I would stay with the 1:7 rocker. Don't know about the 1:8's.

Because 1:8's will change the dynamics of the cam, might as well get a bigger cam then. I do not know how the 1:8's would effect how the car would run therefore I cannot personnaly recommend it. I am only trying to give 100% opinion on what I have personally seen in the last 2 months with these heads. With your compression where it is I am telling you this is the cam for you. Yes I had a monster cam that had almost 25-30 more up top but it was not worth it unless it was a track car only. I have nothing to gain from you getting a X3 cam I just know what I went through and just want to help so that you only have to do this once.

How on Earth could anyone make other that a wildass guess for cam specs without knowing all of the parameters of the engine and vehicle? At the very least, port flow at all lifts, intake manifold configuraton, rpm range to be used, transmission, gearing, vehicle weight, and fuel to be used. At least that's what my cam guy wants to know.

Anything else is merely an RE (Rectal Extraction). There are a number of RE cams floating around under various names.
