What oil are you going to use for break-in? I'm still running Rotella in mine and will continue to use it until I hit 5k miles. (at 3300 right now).

AT the risk of hijacking this thread... Scoggins Dickey sent break in oil with the short block and we'll use that for a couple heat cycles, then I'm going with Red Line synthetic 5W30.

So LS7 heads will bolt on to a LS3 block used for a 427 build? From what I've read the LS7 heads are almost the best choice for big cubes.

I do not think they will bolt on. I have a Darton Resleeved LS2.

so what was the problem, or has it not been figured out yet?? That guy is putting out decent numbers.... for a stock cubed LS2.

only difference between the LS2 and LS7 is the sleeving as most know. The only reason I can run my LS7 heads on an LS2 block is because it was resleeved. You cannot put LS7 heads on a factory LS2 block.

Does the car feel like a beast? If it feels "spot on" as you stated, then things are probably right on. Who cares about dyno numbers. Take it to the track and see what your MPH comes out to.
