I just bought a forged 416 bottom end and plan to top it off with some after market heads and either a fast or weiand manifold w/some sort of forced induction.
I'm looking for power up about 7K rpm's. I have time as my project is still in the body work stages but should be done soon and then i'll work on the drive train and motor. Hopefully by then there will be a few choices in LS3 manifolds.

Most of the LS3 cars we have done to this point have been cam only.
We recently installed our stage 2 L92 camshaft, dual valve spring kit, Kook's LT headers and X-Pipe w/ cats and a Corsa catback on a customers 2008 M6 Corvette and it made right around 490 RWHP and driveability was excellent.
The specs on this cam are: 230/236 .590/.600 114 LSA

Listen to what I say-
Smaller ports ( 225/235 ET/TFS/AFR/what ever head) will make more midrange and area under the curve. Im all about that.
The question posed was SWITCHING OUT 3500+ $ for a set of cathedral ports on an LS3.
Why would you spend 3500+ a cam kit? When you can SAVE 3500$ and run the cam only setup in the LS3, and still make great power?
Show me a 374 ALL bore motor with a mid 230s stick making 520/480 rwhp on pump gas and 11.4:1 CR.

Here is one with STOCK heads. CAM ONLY LS3, pulley, LTs, STOCK muffler, Cold air. No ported intake/TB.....

You cant argue with those numbers. Save the money on the heads/intake. Wouldnt you?

I'm all with u guys on the money part. But my friend is saying this.
But the TFS heads flow better in the Mid-range and Top end flowing 340+cfm@.600,
and the exhaust flow is way better!
Its 2.08 vs. 2.16 valves,which the L92's seem big for 376 inches.
13.5 degree valve angle vs. 15 degree.
The TFS heads win on paper hands down.
Plus the fast 92mm flows much better than the L76 from what i've seen.

Problem is, that is all on paper and in theory.
Im dealing with real paper, real world projects, real world tests.
I get paid, and I make a living doing things like this.
If someone wants to send me their TFS or ETP 225s/235s and a FAST, I will put it on one of the 4 or so LS3 cars I have here and publicly post the results.\
No one has to believe me or what I say, But right now LGM is one of, if not THE, premiere LS3 go-to guys.
I tried the LS7 4" Bore stuff too.... Thats neat... But its too big.

Another thing I see- There are a LOT of guys that have 400+ cube motors not making NEAR the power/Tq we make with out the 4" crank.
Cam choice? touching the heads, and its going the wrong way?
Its VERY easy to screw up a set of LS3 heads.
I know we have a recipe, and it works. We test things before we add it in or offer it.
