^ That's great for naturally aspirated motor, but what about a forced induction set-up ??

I have a forged LS3 (416 "4.070 x 4.0) bottom end that I plan to turbo. Compression is around 8.8 to 1 with 70CC chamber heads.

I want to be able to spin it upto about 7200 rpm. The LS3 manifold seems to pucker out around 6300.

Any suggestions ??

Get the turbo on it and see where it peaks. FI changes the combo as a whole.

If you want to spin it higher, go single plane, especially since you are road racing it. Yes, area under the curve will suffer, but the turbo(s) as long as they are sized properly, should fix that. Its the distribution we are after.

That is what is so strange to me. The L92 heads do so well in the LS3 motor configuration (as well as many of the strokers) but most that use them in the 4" stroker motors have less than stellar results. As with everything else there are exceptions.

I'm not really following your post. Are you saying the peak power is less than stellar or the drag results ? and what do you base this on.

I'm working on a 416 forged combo that I plan to add FI to, once I get the other kinks of my build worked out and I'm trying to figure out what the best heads and manifold are that will work with this combo.

I'm not sure what was confusing but my opinion is only based on results I see posted, not from being an expert. There have been many 400+ CI motors w/ L92 heads that had less than 500 rwhp. On the other hand, there are quite a few modified LS3 corvettes that have had between 500-520 rwhp (6.2 liter motors).

Louis made the same/similar statement in post #28. I would say he/or people from his father's shop are experts.
