Thanks. We'll see. Sounds like this cam is going to suck so bad with the L92's, when I pop the clutch, I'm going to go bakwards

Cam was installed last year...here's what the installer put on the receipt...remember...I'm a cam NEWB, so I don't understand all these numbers. Hell, I don't even have a degree wheel or anything.

And I know you guys will hate me, but it may be October before I get this thing on the rollers....and even if I make it to the track, that's not going to prove anything...I have street tires, and suck at launching my car.

take your time Gerry and make sure everything is right..
and i wasn't trying to imply that your cam is going to be a dog with those heads..i don't have the experience or the working knowledge of your combo to know for sure..just from what i have seen or read about the L92s they like different valve events than LS1/2 heads..but i could be way off,i'm definately not a cam expert...

That wasn't aimed at anyone in particular...just being silly / making fun of the wide array of opinions about what does and doesn't work with these heads. I certainly haven't a clue, asked the only person I thought would give me a reasonable answer, and even he refused to answer the question.

So I said to myself, "Self...there's only one way to find out."

That's one of the reasons I'm doing everything like checking the PTV clearance, checking lifter preload, and now trying to find a way to get a LS2 MAP sensor to fit in the LS3 intake. If there's a way to make her run strong without pulling this cam, then I'll find it. If not, I'll contact someone who will sell me a good cam for the heads.

Gerry

Thats 430 rwhp on a DD add 12% to that figure about 483rwhp on a 218 224 xfi but 112. This isn't a happy dyno either looking at some of the stock cam figures. The xfi lobes have produced some amazing numbers. The synergy cam has a 224 intake, which is the most common here on 6L gives the best of both worlds. Going bigger requires a flycut if u wanna advance it some or run some good comp.

more pics of the OTR intake, that thing looks bitchin

Found my answer for the MAP sensor...when I got home, I used grey Permatex. Just checked it and it is setting up perfectly. Looks like it might even last.

Got the heads on without breaking a bolt, valvetrain is in, but rockers need to be torqued...headers on. Tired as hell.

Thumbs up

Glad this turned out good so far Gerry, can't wait to see some numbers. I also can't wait until I get my L92 heads. The cam in my goat is spec'd for L92heads.

FIRE IN THE HOLE!

She fired right up on the first crank...and the tapping went away after I took her out to break in the lifters.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuTyJt1i1gI

Took her out for a couple check runs, and it gave me a hard on.

Need to do some tuning tomorrow.
