YT Ultralight RR's vs Stock Rocker Weight Over Tip?
Is there any hard data out there? This was discussed at some point and a YT (retailer or rep of some sort) stepped on saying the new "ultralight" ones were lighter at the tip than the stockers. Someone disagreed b/c the rep didn't include the roller weight, and we didn't hear from the rep again. I'm trying to build up a valvetrain that's stable at roadrace rpms for extended periods of time, so valve/rocker weight is important.
I understand YT's will have a superior wipe pattern.
I understand YT's won't spit needle bearings.
I believe they're lighter overall, but the tip weight is the big factor. Even knowing they're aluminum, just looking at the two makes it hard to believe the YT's are lighter at the tip.
Thanks!

I think theyre the all aluminum ones with roller tips and cost around $399 or so, right?
I heard overall theyre lighter, but the Harland sharps(whcih Im gonna end up using) are lighter at the tip

Get them.. You wont regret it. They are a great upgrade, that is not expensive..
No, the YT ultralights are not lighter than the stockers on the nose. But they have a wayyyyy better wipe pattern, are more stable, and do not have needle bearings.
Cost vs benifit, they are the best rockers on the market.. IMHO

Thanks guys.
I'm hoping to spin it to 7250 or so (only if it saves me a shift - track car), so I'm being pretty particular on valvetrain weight issues. I doubt I'll run a giant cam. I'm looking at a forged LS3 build, so with the big valves I need to watch the weight.

In my honest opinion..Yes, without question. Their lighter, and have way less instances of breaking. The HS rockers have had ALOT of documented rocker failures.
Again, this is only my opinion. But it is based off of facts. I'm sure there ar ehundreds of satisfied HS customers..

I owned both at the time...
Im only gonna be spinning the engine to 6600 rpms probably and none higher 6900 max
my peak power will probably be made at 6300 rpms.... bottom line, I want something that wont give me gailure, thats why I was told by many a people that HS rockers were the best for my application...
