Default Noise after Longtube installed??!!!

Just installed my LG Pros lastnight and they sound like they will eat your soul!!! but anyway I also hear a squeeking sound, does anyone know what this could be. Is it the lifters I am hearing now or is it something else that is pretty normal or is something wrong with my exhaust. I am almost sure that it is coming from the engine bay. And it's a really fast squeek like something is moving almost. The faster the engine revs the faster the squeeks become.

triple check all the clearance all around the pipes. sounds like its rubbing against something IMO. either that or you have a loose clamp.

Do you think it might be valve train noise? It almost sounds like a midly squeeky sewing machine. O and I have an 05 C6 vette if that makes any difference.

Did you do anything to the valvetrain? If not, there have been a few posts about the LGs not sealing properly. They've always fit fantastic, so I wonder if Borla had a bad run recently.

Make sure you didn't overtorque them. I did that and after retorquing correctly, the noise was reduced.

X2 if you didnt do anything to the valvetrain and the only thing you changed is headers then you are just worrying yourself, take a piece of rubber hose, prefer to use a stethescope with metal tip removed for this but either way is fine, stick hose in your ear and go around every primary, primary flange, and collector, if its a leak it you will hear the air sound blow into your ear very clearly. This trick has worked many many times for me and others. This helped a guy the other day on some Kooks headers, if it makes you feel better he had brand new kooks that had a leak at the primary where they missed a weld.

^^Good advice. I'd search for exhaust leaks as described above!

You did tighten the bolts from the center working to the outside correct? I have seen plenty of noise issues by tightening them incorrectly.

Well, the longtubes are supposed to make a different sound. On a more serious note check the torque on your bolts and maybe check belt tensioner, it could have become dirty. Or it could be something completely unrelated to the longtubes.
