Default Texas Speed & Performance LT1 Heads/Cam Breaks 600 HP on Engine Dyno!

We have been hard at work on the engine dyno with our 6.2L LT1. Our engine baselined at 518 HP before any changes to the engine internally. We are running the engine without an induction, without catalytic converters, and without front drive accessories. This is where the higher numbers come from vs. the rated 460 HP. You can see the baseline dyno run below:

BASELINE

Our TSP proprietary camshaft and Precision Race Components ported LT1 cylinder heads produced 601.8 HP! This is still running through factory exhaust manifolds as well. We are making some additional changes to the camshaft before we do more testing. The next round should make additional power after making some changes to the cam design, and we will also gain additional power once our prototype TSP long tube headers are completed! So, don't be shocked to see 630 flywheel HP with the next cam and our long tube headers! You can see the video of the 601.8 HP dyno pull below, as well as a sound clip of it idling:

IDLE CLIP

We test multiple camshafts before we bring the final products to market. We want to KNOW that what we offer to our customers is the best, not just the first. We also do not want to give customers off-the-shelf parts. Like all TSP camshafts, we want to bring our customers the best possible combination for their car that is proven to make the best power! Once the testing is completed on our engine dyno, we will then install the same package in our car for chassis dyno numbers.

Enjoy!

Trevor

We will have those exact numbers for you very soon. With our long tube headers in place and the revised camshaft, we are anticipating 515-520 RWHP.

No accessories will typically gain 8-10 HP. Katech's engine produced 500 flywheel HP with an aftermarket induction. So, ours making 518 FWHP with no cats or accessories would be right in line.

The 640 HP number won't be long. This will be very easy with a stroker setup, which is in the works.

those motors are lean burn motors for those that dont know and the direct injection is going to allow the LT1 to run with higher compression, much leaner without the NOx normally found when running lean, plus they have different catts,i was at fastlane in houston and they made almost 450 at the wheels with just a tune stock filter, airbox and everything..check this out,i cant wait till i get mine, and this is finally real power and good mpg

Very impressive! Thanks for sharing.

Question: The vvt phaser is it dimensionally the same as the gen 4 engine?

Thanks,
Mike

Awesome work guys, love that you all take the time to maximize and refine your products before you send them to the market.

Not to be an A hole but I would have thought 575-600 rwhp from a H&C LT1......my 6.0L L96 heads and cam puts down 558 rwhp through a 6L90-E with a medium to medium large streetable sized cam and TF GENX heads. I would have anticipated more out of this platform with a complete top end. .....What gives??? The LS3 clearly responds better to upgrades. Does the DI and the stupid design of the LT1 OEM HEADS hamper this motor to respond to upgrades??
