2014 Sierra, my 6.2 needs more anger.

Hey guys, I've got a few questions that I'd love to see if anyone can answer for me.
First of all, I've got a 2014 Sierra SLT, with the 6.2L L86 (LT1 based) with direct-injection, AFM, etc, etc. As it sits now, it is bone stock, save for an intake and a slightly modified exhaust.
It currently (according to GM) makes 420hp/460tq at the crank, and paired with the 3.73's that I picked during the ordering of the truck, there aren't currently many half-tonnes around here that can mess with it.
I'd like to put in a relatively aggressive cam, Comp Cams has suggested grind number 281LR HR13 (231/239 @ .050" with a 113 LSA). This is a cam for motors previous to DI, will it work?
Here's what I'd like to know, will I be able to keep the AFM? This really isn't a terrible concern of mine, but if I can I might as well, right? I know I need to pick up the VVT phaser (limits it to 22 degrees, IIRC). What springs should I be running? Anything else you'd suggest?
I'm an LS guy through and through but am relatively new to DI and really can't wait to dive in head first.
I do intend on bolt-on upgrades asap down the road as they become available, headers, intake manifold, etc.
Thanks in advance, fellas.
Here is the truck, by the way. It's lowered 5"/7" and still 4x4.

So, upon further thinking at work (I'm a GM tech), I remembered these things have a high pressure fuel pump, that is cam driven. This is leading me to believe that the pre-14 LS engine cams will likely not work. Back to the drawing board.

Have you seen anything from GM on air filter guidance for these engines? I know they had some tech bulletins out for the LS1 warning folks to stay away from oiled air filters due to the MAF fouling problem. I'm wondering if the LT1 is going to have the same issues...

Right, there should be an extra set of lobes on the camshaft to drive the pump. It looks like, in addition to deciding on the regular cam profiles, some figuring-out needs to be done on the fuel delivery equation:

As far as air filter guidance we haven't really seen anything yet, but we've always suggested customers stay away from oiled air filters. And if they decide to use them anyways (say K&N recharge kits) to use the oil sparingly. Can't say I've ever seen an issue.

Does anyone know if a new C7 cam is a "drop in"? My truck has a failed AFM lifter so I'm hoping to delete the AFM with the Katech valley cover and also up the cam, C7 seems like the easiest shot.

While I agree with your opinion 100%, this is not my "go fast" machine. I've got another project for that. I'm more or less just looking to make it sound a little more angry. It has plenty of power for a 1/2 tonne truck, couldn't be happier with that. If that's the wrong reason for me to be putting a cam in, well so be it, but that's what I'm after. Working at the dealer and having access to a C7 cam and all other required parts tomorrow with a few clicks of a button while I've already got the engine apart is a huge bonus aswell.

Hi guys, just wanted to update everyone.
I wound up ordering a 624-500-13 Comp cam, their phaser limiter kit, a Katech AFM delete valley cover and a set of GM performance lifters. The truck will go get a street tune by On-point Dyno next week, and will get a full dyno tune in the spring when I add headers, some head work and a few other goodies.
Waiting for a couple bits through GM, which they tell me will be here Tuesday, so I should be driving it again tomorrow.
