Default Stripped HEADBOLT

Have my old ladies l83 torn apart due to a leaky head gasket - was seeping coolant out of the rear of the head. Got everything cleaned up and went to reassemble today and #9 bolt just spin and spins. (Guess I know why it was leaking now, I am assuming the head has been off before)

Before I do a time-sert I am going to attempt to throw a stud in and pray it will hold.

This brings me to my question. WHAT SIZE HEAD STUD DO I NEED?

I just want to verify I am ordering the right size and am having a hard time finding exactly the right answer.

Drill it out and put a heli coil in there and put the bolt back in on assembly

they don’t make a Helicoil in the correct size.

I believe the bolt size is m11 x 2.0 ??? (My original question)
I am just wanting to get this thing back together so we can go trade it in on a new Denali

They make time sert thread repair kits for M11x2.0 they aren't cheap tho. I'd take it to a guy to have it fixed properly. Fix it once and fix it right.

If you just drill it out and stuff a bigger bolt in there it's gonna suck for the next who buys that thing

Just so you know, if you DO find a stud that size, those stripped threads will not hold when you torque the nut down. Just get a Helicoil/ Timesert/ etc.

You don't just heli-coil or time-sert. these blocks. The threads are countersunk into the block. You have to purchase a kit. Time-sert makes the kit for GM that I have and the las kit i bought to do a full LS2 block was from Huhn Solutions. Very good kit but takes some patience and very close attention to keep from making a simple mistake. The Time-sert kit is easier to use and more precise. Either will run you $600-700.
If you were near me in Ky I'd fix it for ya.
Since you're in Fla, I'm sure there quite a few machine shops that could do it. At least a reputable shop should have the provisions to fix an LS or LT block.
