Default Cool Holden HSV Maloo R8

Telstra is giving away this HSV Maloo R8, on occasion of HSV Holden's 20 year anniversary celebration.

The Maloo is on display at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, from 7 - 10 Oct. and at the Sydney Telstra 500 V8 Supercars, from 3 - 5 Dec.

Thumbs up

I would love to have that. Had a 1979 El Camino back in 79-80. Great vehicle. GM needs to bring this one stateside and bring back the El Camino.

I've always wanted a Holden Ute, and the Maloo R8 is just my type of pickup.

it is the one that was made for the US market but never got there they are selling them ofF over HERE now to get rid of them at ssv prices $50k AUD and is very good BY compared to a true maloo round 15K more

Get on Facebook and ask Mark Reuss about GM and the possibility of a "New" El Camino........last time I did that his "pistivity" level went up quite a bit, LOL. I suggested that instead of doing the CTS-V stationwagon why not bring back the G8 Sport truck that never happened, it didn't go over real well. I actually had the funding set aside to purchase the G8 truck!

So GM had these built for the U.S. market then decided not to even bring any over?

That is the Maloo, but for about $25K less you can get the SS version, spend a few $$$$ and it can look like this

And still be cheaper than a Maloo

I would rip out my own eye teeth with a rusty pair of plyers to get one of those.

I believe the Holden vehicles aren't approved for our roads, so you would have to change a lot of parts for it to be street legal here. Plus it'll cost many thousands of dollars for the freight charge to ship it here.
