Default Re-building a 67 RS/SS Camaro with a touch of LS1/LS2

Hey everybody! I've joined this forum for a few reasons: 1. I'm rebuilding a 1967 RS/SS Camaro and am planning to use either an LS1 or LS2 drivetrain. 2. I've purchased a potential donor car -- a 2002 35th Anniversary Camaro SS -- and was recommended to this site as a means to sell the remaining parts once I've pulled the motor and trans from the car. I do have one small problem though: after really getting a look at the '02, I'm having a VERY difficult time convincing myself to tear it apart. If anybody's interested in buying the whole car let me know. I'd love to rebuild both, but if I start on the '02, chances are I'll never get around to finishing the '67.

You have a nice car as a donor for sure. Is the title savage? I would build the 2002 and run that one around. It should not take too much and you can bring back life to a great car. This car you can ride around in while you work on the 67 so you are not rushed. JMO! Welcome!

Thanks! I'm really leaning towards making the '02 my daily driver. I'm sure I'll be able to find another donor car down the road.

Deciding factor on the donor car, clean title or what?
Air bags deployed?

It's a salvage title which in Utah becomes rebuilt/restored once you register it. The airbags aren't deployed, but the car's hit pretty hard in the rear. I'll probably end up having to clip it if I do fix it.

Check out these other pics and let me know what you think.

Thanks guys. I'm going to have to give it some more thought (money, time spent rebuilding the car, etc.), but if I don't end up fixing the 02 what do you think would be the best route: sell the 02 as-is and look for another donor car or keep the drivetrain and part out the rest? I'm having such a hard time making a decision with this car because it is relatively rare and it's almost a shame to tear it apart.

Oh and did I mention it's a 6-speed with about 52,000 miles? I don't know if that makes any difference, but it might.

Well your r-title ss is now of little value so restoring it will not bring big money in in the future! If you like the car then build her up, but if you want to get rid of it you probably will not get more than $3-4,000 as is! Parting out might be you best option!
