New to an ss
I've been around the site for a while but hopefully on Friday I will be getting an 02 ss camaro. Really excited because I've always wanted one. Little info on the car 95 thousand miles one female owner. The ss looks and drives great. Guess I
Am posting to find out how well will the 5.7 with 95 thousand miles handle upgrades and if the car is a good buy at 7gs any info is welcomed...it also had 241 heads..

Uhh... What? $7,000? For an '02 SS?!
That's one hell of a deal there... Half the cost of similar cars that mileage. I usually see them in the ballpark of $14,000-$25,000 (Dealer prices).
I would definitely double check to make sure it's a legitimate SS. Verify the VIN with SLP, and make sure that the SS/SLP packages are displayed within the RPO code section.
I bought my '00 with about the same mileage and it held up very well to light performance mods. The water pump did end up taking a **** on me, but that was easily replaceable.
It's really hit or miss. You may be able to do some major mods to it and reach 150k miles, or you could hit 115k stock and have it give out. There's a few people on the forums that have high-mileaged LS' that have heavy mods. In all honesty, it comes down to two factors: How well it was maintained and luck.

Thanks rauch, the seller said it is a 35th anniversary edition but the only thing that states that is the radio bezel, interior is all tan leather and the car has t tops but under the hood no signs slp logos or badges that caught my attention. I'll have to look at the serial number tomorrow. Original asking price was 10gs

If it doesn't look like this exactly it is not a real 35th Anniv. A lot of cars say that inside it just means its the 35th anniv of the camaro. People see this all the time and automatically think they have a rare one. Odds are the one you are buying isn't it for 7g...and if it is go buy a lottery ticket as well!!

Good luck and hope you get! Check inside the door jam also for a slp sticker stating the mods. Also you can call slp, street legal performance, and give them the vin to see if it is a real ss. If it is a z28, no biggie.

Thanks^^^^^ Its official I'm an SS owner and I couldn't be happier, the car is an authentic SS WU8 without the slp option but the car is a beauty!! Even came with a letter thanking the original owner for purchasing the SS ...

I took some pics but wasn't to happy with the lighting! I was lucky too this car has only had one owner and she told me she never stepped on it lol for some reason I believe her.. The car also has the ls6 block and intake as far as I can tell from the research I've done.

Congrats man sounds like a good find! How did you verify it has the ls6 block in it? If you couldn't get a look at the rear drivers side of the block the lack of a bullseye casting mark behind the water pump is a dead giveaway. However the motor is still an ls1 because it doesn't have the 243 heads and ls6 cam... Still cool to have an ls6 block tho.
