Default New to Lsx.

Hey Everybody. My name is Keith. I am new to the Lsx world. I currently own a Nissan 240sx S14. I was running a sr20 (4 cylinder turbo) with about 350whp. I got fed up with all the problems and lack of low end power/torque and have made the Jump to the Lsx.

Reason for this is Reliability. Ability to source parts at local parts store. And the obvious power/torque.

I drive my car on the track only. Maybe the occasional cruise. I do drifting. No straight line here. Although I may consider once I get my swap done. Anyways. Here is some history.

I started drifting a 4-5 years ago in my S13 which I regretfully sold 1-2 years ago... I popped my drift cherry in that car. Here she be..

I than Collected the "POOP Coupe" and it collected dust in a garage while I gathered my parts for my first SR20 and what not...

Ran into some Financial Hardship and Sold my motor and got rid of everything else. I was done with drifting.

THAN.....

I paid my fines and couldnt stay away. Last year with a bunch of help from a friend and some deals on parts. I bought his fully built sr. s14 shell. stance coils. os giken super single clutch, and a 2way LSD. And started investing every dollar I made into it again.

..and myself. Im a chill guy. Dont be afraid to approach me and introduce yourself.

My car before engine part out below.

And the Best decision I have made for this car... Ls1 I picked up with Under 60k from a local Parts distributor. He hooked me up on a good deal.

Plans for motor. As of right now I have already sourced a Ls6 Intake manifold from the classifieds here. I have also ordered a pro 5.0 shifter, ported Ls6 oil pump, and every gasket and seal I could get. I ordered a wiring specialties drop in swap harness for my 240sx chassis.

Future purchase list.

243 heads or If funds permit, some PRC 215cc
Ms3 cam kit from TSP
Swap Kit-
INCLUDES
• Aluminum Race oil pan & gasket
• Remote mount oil filter kit
• Engine/transmission mounts
• Aluminum driveshaft
• 1 7/8 ceramic coated long tube headers
• Power steering lines

So yeah that is What I got so far. I am really looking forward to learning more about these motors and enjoying the fruits of owning a ls1.

Hi Keith! I'm new here too. I just bought my first car with an LS1, and have a lot to learn. I'm used to old school muscle cars, without computer controls except for an electronic ignition. I needed a new daily driver car that wasn't tempermantal and had AC to deal with south FL summers. I haven't had the car, but for a few weeks now, and love it. Good luck with your project!

Yeah I am pretty excited to have it done. The weight advantage is where he got ya. My car weighs under 2400. Which would explain the difference, Stock f body weighs roughly 3500.

Welcome! Former '95 S14 owner here, although it was just a bolt-on KA24.
