Default New TA owner. Pics

Hey guys, new on here, and new to the world of performance cars. I’ll apologize in advance for my ignorance, as I know very little about cars. I’m great at working on people, but cars, not so much. Anyway, I have always loved TA’s, and a few months ago I finally decided to get one. It’s a red 2001 WS6, automatic, with 60,000 miles, and was completely stock when I got it, and actually in very good condition. But I really wanted more horsepower, and want to change some appearance details. I am having most of the mechanical work done by a performance shop in Atlanta, and this is what has been done so far:

-GMPP LS3 525hp from Summit Racing installed

-9” rear end installed

-BMR level 4 Suspension handling package from Summit Racing, Torque Arms, subframe connectors

-Willwood Brakes

-Kooks Long Tube headers, Y-Pipe

-MRR 18” Gunmetal wheels

-Corsa exhaust

Parts I have, waiting to be installed:

-Braum Elite Series Seats with harnesses

-NRG Quick Release Steering Wheel

-Kenwood double din head unit with nav

-Redline Goods Shift boot and console cover

-Lloyd Custom Mats

The car is still in the shop right now, but should be done in a few weeks. I will post more/better pictures at that time, but thought I would go ahead and post some initial and progress pictures. I also have a couple of questions. 1. Does anyone have experience with the BMR suspension? I’ve noticed a lot of people on here are fond of the Koni Sport shocks. Should I change them? 2. The mechanic said that I needed a gauge cluster from a 1997 TA because the stock one is not compatible with the new PCM. Why is that? I ordered a ‘97 gauge cluster from Hawk Motorsports and have sent it to the mechanic, but I haven’t heard back from him yet.

Sorry for the long post, I’m just excited to be on here! Lol! Please feel free to make any comments/suggestions/criticisms

Awesome car. Finished up my LS376 525 install last month. Be sure to post up your dyno results, and impression to this thread since there is interest about that engine. https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...ate-motor.html

As for why there is a compatibility issue, are you trying to use 58 tooth crank/4x cam sensor? I see the drive by wire throttle body is on the car. Most either swap to the LS1 crank and cam stuff, or run the LPE trigger box, use the LS1 pcm and a cable driven tb.

Gotcha. I will have to check on the cam sensor. I’m not really sure.

can you pm me some seat pics installed? Do you think a Wolfe cage would work with these? Do they sit high?

Unfortunately, I still haven’t installed them yet, but as soon as I do, I will send you pics with that information. Still have a couple of weeks left on wrapping up the engine install.
