Default Finally bought an LS!

So, picked up my first block! It will end up in either a 57 Chevy 4 door hardtop or 55 Chevy 2 door sedan. This is my first dive into LS motors so be gentle!

It’s a 2008 Aluminum 5.3, I’m trying to figure out the specific type of block. Not sure if LH6, etc. Already honed (stock pistons and rings will work), cleaned, checked for cracks, and new cam bearings put in.

Thanks! 2008 5.3 aluminum block. Will build it up with a stock bottom end and a decent top end. I’m looking for 400hp/torque with decent mileage. I posted photos, waiting on a mod to approve.

If you want the block to look amazing, have it vapor blasted..
I just had a Aluminum engine rebuilt and they used vapor blasting to clean it.. It almost glows..

vapor blasting, or vapor honing as known in the industry is nothing more than sandblasting with glass bead. While it will make it look good initially the surface will be porous and will attract grease and dirt. The best way to keep these looking good for the long term is to paint them with aluminum header paint. VHT makes an excellent product.

I was planning on a 2k epoxy primer then urethane paint. I’ve done my 327 and Ford 460 that way, it holds up great. I asked my paint rep about epoxy or urethane primer on the aluminum block, she says the epoxy would be best.

I do use VHT high temp on headers and exhaust always. It’s the only stuff that holds up.

I will probably just polish up the exterior with a Dremel and rubber abrasive polishing bits. It leaves a clean yet scuffed surface that paint will stick to.

Post Impact of Globalization in Everyday Life

Impact of Globalization in Everyday Life

There is globalization that can make the world look narrow, in the past if we were going to watch football shows we had to go to the country that played the match. But now we don't need to go anywhere, we just have to watch it on tv.

When we want to contact someone we have to meet that person, but now because there is a telephone, we don't need to meet in person, just talk over the phone. There is globalization bringing benefits to humans but there are also bad effects.

Impact of Globalization in the Cultural Sector
The more global the diverse cultural values of the capitalist group in the world's citizens. The spread of western clothing styles in some developing countries. The proliferation of film and music production in the form of CD/VCD or DVD pieces, and now movies can be downloaded, or streamed.

The positive impact of globalization on the social side is that the younger generation can get facilities that enable them to get information and relate more effectively to a wider range of outcomes. The negative impact is that the younger generation who are not ready to receive information with low resources will only follow things that are not good, such as some forms of violence, brawls, painting on walls, and so on.

Because there is a great means of making a person lazy to relate to other people so that the sense of togetherness dwindles a lot. One of the benefits of globalization is that information can be obtained easily, quickly and completely from all over the world so that human knowledge and discourse becomes wider.

However, due to globalization, sometimes it is not accompanied by filtration. All info is accepted as is. This affects the shift in lifestyles, viewpoints, and attitudes that are not in accordance with the cultural ethics of the Indonesian nation.

The cultural side is the side most prone to negative impacts. The form of information and facilities that can be freely accepted can influence the way of doing and thinking of the younger generation. For example, the reduced reading culture in the group of students, they prefer to watch TV which shows shows that contain elements of violence which they then follow.

Impact of Globalization in the Economic Sector
The positive impact of globalization in the economy is that it can trigger the productivity and development of several economic actors so that the products made can compete with other products. In this era of globalization, human beings are demanded to be innovative and productive.

And the negative impact is that it can bring out the character of consumerism in the younger generation. So, unable to meet the demands of the times because they have been trained to accept technology and can only buy without making.

Globalization and market liberalism have offered alternatives for obtaining a higher standard of living. The inequality of income distribution is getting wider between some rich countries and some developing countries. Furthermore, the emergence of several multinational and transnational companies will open up opportunities for the accumulation of wealth and business monopolies and political power to a few people.

Impact of Globalization on Social Factors
The state is no longer seen as a key holder in the development process. Some public regulators in developing countries are taking developmental paths to address social and economic problems.

Impact on Lifestyle:

Individualistic In the past, publication could only happen when we went out of the house, reprimanded our neighbors or chatted. But nowadays, it's enough to just sit at home with the internet, we can even hang out with people who are really far away. These are the roots of individualism that are formed because they do not associate directly. It would be devastating to create a person with an attitude that doesn't care about anyone other than him.
Pragmatism is an attitude that views something from the pros and cons for us. Although actually helping without a specific purpose is a basic lesson in society. But the more advanced the times, causing the erosion of the values of working together and helping each other in some good things. Personal is more directed at activities that provide benefits for him alone.
Materialism is a doctrine that holds comfort, pleasure, and wealth as one of the highest directions or values. Materialism tends to be more concerned with material than spiritual or scholarly direction and values.
Hedonism is a vision of life or a lifestyle that views material pleasure and satisfaction as the special direction of life. For some followers this understands, merrymaking, debauchery, as a special direction of life, whether it is happy for someone or not. Because they assume this life is only once, so they feel like they want to enjoy life to the fullest.
