I've read some posts on this forum but I just subscribed today. Thought I'd stop in the introductions section and say hi.

Now what's the first mod I should do to my Ls1?

Actually I think my first mods will include an FTRA, lid, K&N filter, smooth bellows, iridium plugs and MSD wires followed by a new 3" exhaust.

I thought you only needed those once you had more power so the chassis wouldn't twist as much.

Bill, you beat me to it.

Badness, I'm off of Broad street, right by the Rome-Hilliard road area. If you need anything, look me up, I may be able to help (and I'm close).

Oh, and welcome to the family!

Welcome. You could always go with the simple mods first...lid, filter, MAF...which is pretty much where I am at except for 4.10's. Getting ready for a set of underdrive pulleys though. Hope you have fun with your new ride.

Welcome! I think you pretty much have an idea for mods. But if I may opine, the mods I have so far done (a few more than in the sig ) has left me spinnin' a little too much for my taste . Wish I would have done a few sfc type mods in between. Keep in mind if done right, it doesn't take a whole lot to unleash these puppies.
Good luck & Happy Modding!

Yes, that's why he suggested getting them first (before power mods).

sfc's help out even on a stock car. they are worth it. dont waste the money on a bellow, they are crap and do nothing. if you want something new get a 4 dollar fernco coupling from homdepot. same thing better design and cheaper. first mods i would recomend are just the basic lid, catback, free mods, ftra is nice, and maby a cutout.

Always start out with the small bolt on's just like the things that you listed above. I would do all the small things you can untill you have to put on a cat back and then start doing big mods. Get a set of subframes though, my girlfriend has an automatic WS6 that is bone stock and she warps her quarter pannels since she doesnt have subframes.
