Default I have arrived

I joined the site a while ago, but I think I should introduce myself. I am pretty much a noob when it comes to autos. I understand the basics, but want to learn more. I have a 99 Z-71 with a 5.3 and minor mods. I also have an 86 chevy pickup with a 355, 11:1 comp, converter, heads etc. I have learned quite a bit from that truck as I pulled the V6, rebuilt and installed a 350, did some body work and painted the truck, and lowered it. I did most of the work myself and with a family member who is pretty knowledgeable. I bought the 99 in 2002 and haven't done much, but the ultimate goal is 12s and a solid daily driver. Right now, I am in college, and thus poor, but I am in the stages of learning how to accomplish my goal. I will probably ask quite a few beginner questions, but for those of you who do answer, I appreciate helping out a younger generation guy who isn't into rice. I am ready to put in the time to accomplish my goal within 3 years. This may seem like a long time to people who have jobs and an income, but like I said, I am a poor college student. I do know that, eating all of this Top Ramen will pay off when I finally do cross the traps in under 13 seconds.

3 years is only long when you are poor ( like me aswell )... I'm going to be getting a shitty part-time job somewhere ( no freaking idea where yet ) just so I can help pay for mods and pay the car off faster.. I'll be dumping everything I currently enjoy for this car so ...

Welcome! 3yrs is along time, but with an LS1 it won't take 3 yrs to get into the 12s, and you don't have to know much to get there. I'm not a clooege student, but I'm broke as well. Between regular bills and child support. I plan on being in the 12s this season. I just bought my all stock LS1 about 2 months ago. Trust me, this is the place to be if you want to go fast!
Enjoy!!!
