Default OMGWTF Newbie!

Yo yo yo...

I'm about to buy an LS1 Z/28 with the M6...Beautiful car. I just sold my 90 Mustang Notch(I guess I saw the light). I also have a #s matching 1969 Camaro Z/28 with the 302 and Muncie 4-speed. So yeah, pics of the new car to come...What should be my first mod? I was thinking the lid or a short-throw...I don't know...

So yeah...Hi.

Gotta get rid of those factory Limiters. Also if it has the Skip shift, also known as CAGS, u need to a get a SKip SHift Eliminator. Then go from there.
Welcome!

Welcome!
Use a resistor from Radio Shack for that.

Skip the K&N too. Stay with paper.

Welcome. Yeah, definately get rid of the skip shift. You can just put a 2.2K resistor in the plug instead of buying an eliminator. Then, lid & cutout. I like the pro 5.0 shifter best (I've used a lot) and it seems to be the best IMO. Can't wait to see pics of both cars

welcome - get the lid and work you way up the list of bolt-ons. Don't forget those 'free' mods also.

get a 9" or a 12 bolt. I wish i would have done that before cam, long tubes ect. Your car can run pretty well if you upgrade the rear end clutch and suspension. Then mess with the motor. My .02

Thanks guys...Just picked up the car today. I already got the SLP lid, and I'm gonna do some of the free mods. The car moves pretty good, but the thing doesn't like to go into 3rd sometimes...From what I read here, it's the aluminum shift-fork...So I'll do that when the clutch is ready to be replaced.

Nice project you got there! Good luck with that.

And lid/catback should be your first mods

Yeah...My buddy is getting the STS kit, and he wanted the stock lid to run the piping through so it looks like the car is stock. There's a huge difference between the stock and slp lid...The stock has so much crap in it, slp is nice and smooth. I can't really tell the difference...Might pull a little harder and get better milage since it can breathe easier...But hey, it was free, why not?

Which catback should I go with? I like the sound of the slp on a catted car, but when the cats cam out, it sounded like ***. I guess maybe borla or something?

You (or your friend) can cut most of those baffles on the inside of the lid out and it would still look stock from the outside. Might help a little.
