My names Mike and I live near Grand Rapids Michigan. Just purchased my first LS1 in the form of a 1998 Formula. I paid $5000 for it with 92000 miles on the odometer. Its been slightly lowered and has SLP 17" wheels and 275-40-17s all around. It also has a loudmouth exhaust, ram air hood, 160 thermostat, K&N filter. Its black and automatic (damnit) but its a nice car. Once I get some nice pics Ill post them. I have a lot of learning to do.

hey dude,
i grew up over there, grand rapids is a cool city....sounds like a nice ride, get a higher stall converter and you won't be swearing about it being an auto anymore!

Hey man, I am from Big Rapids and just recently bought a '98 formula myself. Mine's an NBM M6 with a suncoast hood, eagle 077 wheels, a lid, K&N, loudmouth with bullet muffler, skip shift delete, Hurst billet plus shifter, white shift ****. Sounds like our cars are pretty similar. You should come out to mid michigan motorplex in stanton to race one of these Wednesday nights. I go there quite a bit. Let me know if you're interested in meeting up there sometime.

Ive been wanting to take it out and see what it will do. Im very interested in meeting some other people with the same cars and seeing what i can do to make it faster. I have no idea what else this car has, but wanting to know. I just moved from DSMs to LS1s. I know them DSMs will whip me all day, at least the AWD cars. It might be a couple weeks before I get out to stanton, so id like to keep in touch with you.

Sure thing, that'd be cool. I am hoping to swap in some 4.10s in the next week or two. I don't know about DSM's beating what you have... figure on 13.4-13.6 with your mods on street tires. I'm running 13.4's @ 106.50 right now with just a lid and catback - the MPH is good enough for a 12 sec pass on DR's. I figure with 4.10's I'll be pretty close to the 12's on street tires. Let me know when you want to hit the track, I usually try to go every couple of weeks.

Hey there Mike, I'm Jasen, live in Grand Rapids myself. Welcome to the wonderful world of LS1 Fbody's, I'm in my 3rd year myself. If you are looking to meet up and hang out and go to some events, check out www.mifbody.com. Its a statewide fbody enthusiast site but we have about a split membership between the D and GR. It's not a club, just a more local site for fbody enthusiasts with a family atmosphere. Not quite as technical as this site but its getting there. So come check us out, and anybody else in here that's interested!!
Anyway, welcome to LS1tech, use the search button, and you will find almost an endless amount of info here and a lot of great members to help!!!!!
