Default Newbie from Cali

Hey everyone, what's up, hope everything is good. My name is Alex from Long Beach, Ca. You guys have an awesome website with a lot of useful info. I'm new to the fuel injection world, so I've been reading threads every time I get a chance. I'm working on a 68 Camaro SS (did not have original motor), and hopefully if everything goes good, I'll be putting and LS1 from a 01 camaro with "32,000" miles. I've enclosed some pictures, hopefully it will be ready to go by summer.

Nice man! I always wanted to do that project.

Oh and, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the motor you have pictured is "not" out of an 01. That motor has all the original smog equipment on it, which means it was in a 98 to 00. In 01 GM got rid of that equipment realizing they did not need it. Notice the tube going into the intake right behind the thottle body and the little motor hangin off the passenger side head. Sorry man, hope you didn't get ripped.

Looks like a dream project. Please cam that LS1 up before you put it in the car - much easier that way. Then add some big wheels and paint, and post pics in the "you are all fu@$&ng jealous" section. Good luck and welcome.

You beat me too it. That engine has an LS1 intake and EGR tube into the Intake Manifold, not found on the 01-02 engines. What heads are on it?

My guess would be a 2000 MY; although it could be a 99-00...
