wow .... 16 and a car ... an 02 WS6 no less! Insane! Congratulations - I'm sure you feel like you hit the lottery. I got my first car at 18. A 2.8 litre 1985 Camaro for $1,500. My first LS1 was when I was probably 23 or 24 and I had to purchase a plane ticket to fly out, get it, and drive it back. Anyway, congrats and welcome aboard!

Congrats on the new car. My friend had a modded LT1 and lost control of it and killed himself and almost killed his passenger. He was 20, not saying he couldnt drive, he could probobly drive better then I, but just goes to show you, it dont matter how much experiance you have, you can not predict the reaction of a vehicle with un-known power. Dont get me wrong I would have loved to get a T/A for my first car, with I almost did, but I fliped my truck and my parents didnt think I needed something with more power. I drive Trucks for a living, and with this in mind, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not take them for granted, It takes a fully loaded 18 wheeler 1/4 of a mile to come to a complete stop @ 60mph farther if they are empty.

I would of been dead...I about killed myself in a ******* '91 lumina with 220,000 miles on it. I drag raced that slow piece of ****...even at the track and on the way to the ************.
Hell now i'm only 19 and I still don't feel as though i'm in complete control. Not that i'm a bad driver, I just dont have the *****, which is probably a good thing...had a lotta ***** when i was 16 tho lol
Bottom line though...you live and you learn.

WOW, look at all the haters on here. Sprung_Monkey is right, some of you people need to get of your high horse. A few of you are acting just as ignorant as him.
I agree that toking up while driving is stupid and he shouldn't feel good bragging about it. Also talking about how much money your family has is pretty lame. Hex probably has a lot to learn and in time he will. But he doesn't need a bunch of ******** talking down on him!
First of all the people bitching about him being spoiled and talking about how they had to pay for everything when they were his age should shut the **** up! Good for you, working for your things is great and teaches you a lot about responsibility and independence. But don't act like your better than him because if your parents offered to buy you a car and pay for some of your **** you would have loved it. So you people have no room to criticize!
Secondly there are a lot of people on here saying that a 16 year old shouldn't have a LS1. Also, shut the **** up! It's none of your business what kind of car he can or can't have. And once again I'm sure when you were 16 if your parents gave you the keys to a WS6 you wouldn't say "This might be too much car fo me, can I have something a little more crappy?" Yeah a lot of kids are bad drivers and many have wrecks, but that is by no way justification for saying he will be "just another statistic" or be "dead in a week."
All anyone should say is congradulations, be careful, and have fun!

QUOTE=pheonix_rising]Wow I can't beleive this thread! If my parents found Weed on me they would take my car. Even though I paid for it. Also, if you talk too casually about that you may find yourself in a predicament. A lot of police officers are on forums like this and I don't doubt that they would pursue it. I'm glad you like the car but the second you wreck it or do something else you will not be popular around here. Respect that car and yourself and you will surely enjoy both your car and this site. Rant off. God Bless and Merry Christmas.[/QUOTE]

shiiit.. i wish my parents would buy me an ls1 when i was 16....they would have been pratically brand new almost... i bought my ls1 when i was 18... my first car as a 88 rx7 m5 i thought it was fast at the time lol
but congrats.. be careful... its defenatly alot of power to start out with... take it slow, and go from there
thats not entirely true...it DOES!!! matter how much expierience u have... expierence from other things happening can help you understand why it happned, how to prevent it, and also know how to react to it...but ur right anything can happen at any given point "tire blow out, wheel come off, etc... but EXPIERENCE helps you be prepared for that kinda stuff!
but congrats.. be careful... its defenatly alot of power to start out with... take it slow, and go from there

I knew you where a dumb *** pot head when you said your stock WS6 was fast. I bought my stock 99 Z28 when I was 17 and I knew it was in no way fast. The best way not to wreck your car is to be scared of what it MAY do!

It seems that once I got my cam installed, I didnt rhomp mine as much because I knew it had the ***** and I didnt need to prove it anymore.
It also made it loud as hell and I didnt want to attract more attention than I already did
