Default New LS1 owner, in 3rd Gen Z28 though!

I am building a 3rd gen body IROC Z28, but using 4th gen brakes, LS1 engine and 4L60E trans. This looks like a great forum for info and help with tuning, etc. for my combination. Even being an auto tech there is still a TON of things to sort out when you want something a little unique!
Looks forward to speeding up the learning curve and avoiding wasted dollars on my way to an 11 second 3rd gen that steers, stops and runs as well as a well built 4th gen!

Thanks!

Jim

Jim,

Welcome to the boards. There is a TON of knowledge around here. Please keep us informed of your progress. I have a '92 Z28 that I have often thought about converting over to LS(x) power.

See ya around.

Thumbs up

Welcome to the site. Gotta love that 3rd gen body style. I miss my 87 IROC. One of my friends at work bought her so I see her every day and he tells how much fun it is to drive. I always wanted to swap in an ls1 but never found the money. Good luck and have fun with her.

Thanks for the posts, didn't expect more then a moderator to say hello!

I will post a pic of the car, although there is a long way to go, I did the paint and interior first, so I could stomach taking it to Old Town and for short drives, until the drivetrain is done.

I started the front brake upgrade today, zinc coated crossdrilled rotors, braided hose, etc.
I'll post pics of the progress as it goes and search for a lot of pics here as well!

Thanks again!

Put the bigbrakes on the car this past weekend. Here is a pic of em'!

It is incredible how well they work, compared to the old 10inch rotors, LOL!
