Default Big name LS cars can't run the number at the track today

I went to Bradenton Motorsports Park today with my car and there were at least 8 LS powered cars there today including some much lauded high dollar cars.

Here is what they said they were running today:
LS7 Corvette. Best pass 12.5 @ 119
Cadillac CTS V Best pass 12.99 @ 110
LS3 Corvette Best Pass 12.80 @ 112

In all fairness, it was stupid hot today with a varying head wind. Everyone was down on MPH. And, these guys were just having fun and most were not experienced drivers. But, all that being said, none of them were running "internet" times for sure.

Were they all manuals?

I wont say my car runs internet times, but I will say what it does really run.

When I see people with cars that are completely stock or supposedly stock and they claim to run incredible times, on top of all that with a manual?

I don't see it happenin unless your the Stig.

Added: So it goes to show the value of an auto at the track.

6 speeds impress high school kids, auto's win races.

That's pretty much how it works in the real world. Very, very rarely do you see cars being driven all out at their full potential at your local drag strip, most people don't even have the skill to do it.

All were on street tires. The CTS V was hooking up. It just didn't want to go in the heat.

That and the heat. It was just brutal. You could see the disappointment and confusion on their faces. I figure my MPH on the big end was down about 2 MPH too. One of the bracket racers measured the track surface temp at 135 degrees after noon. As it got towards noon, I lost a tenth in the 60' as the track turned greasy. But, these guys all made passes while the track was still good. There was about 4 or 5 Firebirds out there too. Some with slicks & drag radials. I did not see any of them run near the 11s though.

The car weighs exactly 3500 with a full tank of gas and the spare tire in the trunk.

I hate even DDing my car aggressively when it's really hot outside; I feel like I'm abusing it

I am curious to see what the times look like in the winter if we can get down to the 60 degree range here. My car might pick up a couple tenths, but I bet that CTSV will be a whole new beast on a cool day. I drove my GN on a 40 degree day and it felt like nitrous.

Typical...
Autos are great for guys who can't drive and can only go strait, for everyone else that actually likes to drive their car, or do more than just a boring/skill-less strait line race, manual it is.
Bring your slush box to a real track (one with turns) and you will quickly see what "wins races".
