me and some buddy were out the other night and ran into a guy with a 00 camaro. the car ran like a striped *** ape, and when we stopped to talk the guy informed us the engine in tranny were completely stock. said he basically stripped the car and removed any extra weight and did all suspension and chassis mods. car had exhaust thats about it, saw the motor stock manifolds, air box everything.

so i was wondering if there is anyone else out there, or on here that has done this and quick your cars had got down the track???

i wasnt in my car, my buddy raced him from a 20 roll in his camaro, he beat my buddy by about 3 or 4 cars. my friends car is a 01 z with headers and exhaust shift kit, and a few other little **** mods

I would put money on it that we will have a stock bottom end car in the 7s by the middle of next year.

They aren't the fastest NA stock bottom end 346, IIRC DmMizzel still holds that at bottom 9s, shooting for 8s.

I'm talking stock bottom end + a power adder... Shooting for 7s.

Been quite a while now, over 6 months at minimum, I'm sure its been longer than that.

He is in a fox body though so not as much talk about it.. Still has a stock bottom H/C car though!

It's not a stock bottom-end end LS1 though. It's "big bore and short stroke" according to Dave. So maybe it's "stock" cubic inches, but that's far from a stock bottom-end LS1, IMO Very cool combo though!

Yea, I remember discussing that with him... I also remember him not being too open to discussing it!

I never got the full details.. I guess he would have the stock cube record. Either way, it runs hard for a 346. I just remember they did actually put him on the list for a while, whether he still holds it or not I'm not sure.

What is the current record and what are you guys running?
Also, I got those ARP wheels studs for 64$ shipped! Thanks for the heads up.
