I have heard good and bad things about speed inc located in Schaumburg. I would just like to know what everybody thinks about them and there internal work they do. I am planning on getting a cam put in there and have them tune my car this spring. So let me know all the good and bad you have to say about them.

I've bought 99% of my mods from Speed Inc. and I've been extremely happy with them. Obviously you're going to hear bad things about every company since it's impossible to please everyone but I would take my car there before anywhere else. There prices are usually better then most competitors and they're service is real good too.

Well I can only say very good things about Speed inc and Tom's outfit. They are very busy all the time i speak or have visited them. they have done all my mod's except my Catback's which the dealer performed.
I'm going in two weeks for a head, cam and rockers pacakage.
Give tom and a call... He is a very straight Shooter!!!

I am hearing so much good about them. I was just scared because I was only hearing bad for awhile. I guess they are good. I have been talking with them now, and they sound like good people. Thanks for all the input guys.

Me and a buddy went down there with his 2000 Z28 which he had them do H/C/I and gears along with a tune and the car came out great
I for one would make the drive from Minnesota to have them work on my car with out a second thought. Larry was a really cool guy, thats who my buddy went through ordering all the parts, and what not. He took the time to answer all his questions and trust me there were a lot!! So I would rate Speed Inc a top notch spped shop
. I will be there in the spring for a tune!!

Well, I have been going to Tom since he was a one man team working out of his home garage (just like a ton of other local guys)
Nobody else has ever touched my car mechanically. In fact, when I did my H/C combo, I was simply hoping to get 375rwhp out of an auto. But no, when I picked it up Tom showed me the dyno and my jaw dropped - 415rwhp
This morning, Tom and Larry spent over an hour working with me to build my 402CI and Th400 trans setup.
Like everyone says, you can't go wrong.

I have spent thousands with Speed Inc. Tom Izzo does try his hardest, and his business is always slammed.
These guys really know their stuff. The only thing I noticed is minor accountability issues and interoffice miscommunication amongst them. I had the worst gearswap in history buying Motive 4.10 gears from them. After installing, I was chewing up the gears in a matter of weeks after loud howling in the rear. After the first one went bad, Tom sent me out another set (on an exchange basis.) At this point I had my own issues too, the installer said the gears were no good, and Motive was saying my installers don’t know what they’re doing. So I was stuck in the middle, paying for each and every install, and my car still wasn’t running.
Gearswap after gearswap was going to ****. This happened 5 times! Every time I called Tom to say the new Motives went bad again, he said he would just sent me out another set, and credit the ones I returned. I was using very experienced techs in the field, and still the gears would howl and go to ****. Finally I had Tom special order Richmond gears.
No more problems! The first time we put the Richmonds went in-SILENCE! But then Tom called me later and said Motive would not credit the bad gears, so I was stuck having to pay for all 5 sets! I was obviously upset, and Tom said we would “split” the costs of these gears 50/50.
I was still quite bummed about this and wasn’t sure if Tom was assertive enough with Motive. So I called and e-mailed Motive myself, and got extremely nasty with them, including 4 letter words. Hey, desperate people do desperate things, I was about to be out thousands of dollars for a freaking stupid gearswap!
Motive FINALLY gave in reluctantly and took the gears back, but only after I got ugly. In the end, I still paid around $1700.00 for a 4.10 gearswap!
There was another time where I was overcharged for delivery on a H/C package. Tom said no prob, he would credit me on my next purchase from them. I called months later, and the guys said there was no record of any credit to me. I bet it’s still not on my account with them, but it’s only $30.
Bottom line: I will still do business with Speed Inc., they have great prices and know their ****. Just make sure to note who you speak with, what was said, and retain all e-mails and receipts.

I was doing business with Tom when he was doing stuff in his garage in Hanover Park. ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Between my Camaro, my truck, Brother in Law's old '98 Z and now my GTO, I pretty much have only done business with them.
