On Jan 11th, Jay emailed me and said mine would be ready in the beginning of February. February is now past 1/2 over, and no heads & no call on when they'd be ready.

I got a call from Jay last night and his original estimate to me of mid February/1st of March may have been a tad optimistic. He's checking with his CNC guy to see if he's got a 6 liter set ready to go so he can narrow down the time frame for me a tad more. I needed to know something last night as I was looking at a set of used Stage II 5.3 liter heads that a guy is selling for a thousand bucks. I was going to purchase these if Jay was going to be longer than a month on mine. He assured me he could fill my order within that time frame. After waiting so long, I surely didn't want to give up on what I'd already paid for. Jay is supposed to get back with me by Monday once he checks with the CNC guy. Hopefully something is moving for sure on my deal now. I sincerely wish everyone else good luck in getting their deals completed as well. I'll post up any developments I find.

I just hope he gets mine to me by March 19th, which is my scheduled install-date for my heads + cam. Didn't think that was in jeopardy since Jay last gave me an update that my heads would be done at the beginning of February, but we're past that and I haven't heard from him since Jan 11th. If I get 'em by March 15th I'll be surprised.

The shop just flowed by heads. I don't have the sheet in front of me. But he said it flowed about 315 @ .550

He also said that they flow too much and was worried about torque at low rpm's

I can live with having "too" much flow. As I understand it, Jay uses some fairly small port volumes and yet still achieves good flow numbers. As long as the flow velocity is up there, don't worry about lost low end torque. As long as the port isn't just hogged out, don't worry about flow velocity. Jay doesn't just hog the ports out. I think you've got yourself a winning set of heads there Ed. Now, back to waiting on mine.

Actually the shop thought there was too much material removed by CNC. And was worried about velocity when not under boost.

I really don't know what to think.

Did Jay change his port designs? I know at one time he used smaller ports than others that were claiming the same flow numbers. This was back when Absolute's heads were the best to have, bar none. Bolt yours on Ed and test 'em at the track or at least on a dyno. I swear I don't think you'll be disappointed. I just hope to get product from Jay soon. The track has opened back up for the season around here. I'm just itching to make a pass with my SS with some power backing me up. Looks like I'm going to be starting the season with my Stealth TT's again though.

My heads are the exact same as yours. And there really isnt much material removed. Alot of "other shops" either dont know too much about ls1 heads or just want to get you to buy something of thiers. When I saw my heads flowed They flowed awesome 100-400 where it counts most for TQ. Jays heads hve best been known for big TQ #'s. Now go bolt those things on there and get your car running. Good Luck and Enjoy.

Keepin' this at the top.... Called and left Jay a message on Friday, hoping for an update. No call back, but I'll still stay positive that I'll see my heads before 3/19 which is (was?) my scheduled install date......

I hear ya. I was told that my heads were done and ready to ship, Jay just needed my shipping address. I called him and left a detailed message including my shipping and cell number again last week.

I have high hopes, but in reality I'm not expecting much.

Just curious, when did you order/pay for yours? I'm just curious if Jay is using a first paid/first delivered method in getting out these heads. Thanks.

This is definately NOT TRUE..
I believe my order from the 12th of Jan 2004 is the oldest one. I've gotten the "heads ready to ship" line since May of last year, and then one from June-October.

I've never received a call back from Jay since October, even after leaving messaes on the new number.

Same here. That's why I don't have my hopes up like I said. My heads are 2 year old LS6 heads from Jay when he first started his business. He said he wanted to go over them again, told me I could gain 15-20 over his old port. They were sent to him in early February of 2004. I was told they were finished from CNC in June of 2004. He told me they didn't work out like he wanted them to on the CNC (didn't clean up well around the seat?), so he was going to try to sell them to cover core costs for a new set of LS6 cores.

He said he couldn't sell them, so he was just going to get them to me as best he could. I've been told numerous times they were ready to go he just needed a shipping address. I've emailed him my shipping address at least 3 times, and given it to Mike M. at least once.

I heard 2nd hand that my heads were done and he needed the shipping address again which I promptly called and left along with my cell # again last week.

I also have not received a direct phone call from Jay. All the information I've ever gotten has been second hand since summer 2004.

He must have had your heads on hand for some reason. Apparently there is some issue with the CNC machinist some how, so who knows whose heads he has on hand or doesn't have.

I've heard all sorts of different things, it would be nice if someone who really knows what is going on, or Jay himself would just be completely honest at this point. I need to know if he's really going to ship me my heads or not any time soon.

I don't know what filing with the BBB or USPS will really do other than go after him legally. I don't think they can get us our money back can they? That's all I really want is my heads back or my money back.

Well, the letter I got from the USPS said that they would refuse mail to him if the complaint was not taken care of. Don't know if they would do that. But if he got the letter, maybe it gave him a push to get me my heads. :dunno:
