A/C Fix vid
This is for the DUAL ZONE A/C for the Drivers side. This was done on my 07 Impala SS.
Ok, some people may have had this, some may have it, and some may get it. This vid is for those people that want to DIY.
Only reason I made this vid was because the dealership wouldn't warranty the part and my aftermarket warranty wouldn't either. The dealership wanted over $600 total to correct the problem. All it cost me was $40 for the part and 2.5hrs of trial and error.
Enjoy!

So I had to rig up a "wrench" using a 6mm nut driver and a small cresent wrench with duct tape hold the two together to be able to finally break the screw free!

Nope, the pass side is a whole lot EASIER.
1. open glove box
2. press sides of glove box to make it hang all the way down
3. a/c box is on the left side between radio and glove box. you'll see it
4. unscrew it(3 screws I think) should be 6mm too.
5. unplug it
6. replace.
Thats it.

I have had that wonderful noise for 6 months now. Thank goodness I don't have to take it to the dealership to have fixed! Thanks for your hard work ImpSS07! Do you have a part # or what do I need to ask for?

Also, price from GMpartsDirect.com is $40, shipped.

Apparantly, this same actuator is used not only for the temp control but also for the ooutside vent control. Here is a photo of the one for the outside air. It is behind the glove box on the passanger door side, it sounds just as glorious as the one in the video.

That's the one that failed on our Impala. I just got done replacing it about an hour ago. The key is to take out the inner-glove box and lock so you can get a good angle on the bolts. I used a small 1/4" ratchet with a 5.5MM socket to take out the two retaining bolts. You also need to move the wiring harness out of the way of the front bolt.

That's weird, I just had 2 bolts in mine also, thought maybe the production line got backed up or had somebody new bolting mine on. There is 3 bolt holes but only 2 of them have bolts. And yes, there is a hole for the third missing bolt. 2 bolts easier to remove than 3 but dang, how many people run with less lugnuts than required. Seen it lots of times. One of those things that just bothers me
